No. Got the "exhaust work" done in sept-october(?) I think, and stored the car in middle of november. I did not have time to fix it last year.Originally Posted by Kevwood

But it's on top of my to do list this spring.

It actually sounds like a CLK63 up to 2k rpm

Will post a sound clip in spring.
Thanks Mike!
Ill re search for your thread.
Thats the look im going for as well. I assume you bought the bumper setup brand new? I just don't know how to get the new set of tips breathing without swapping the spare tire well to the C55 one, there is no room for the pipes...

I've since changed the headers and mid section when I Kleemann'ized but the rear stays the same.

The amg package came of a CLK55, the amg package was in great condition, I only had to repaint it to get the perfect result I wanted.Originally Posted by Frank Rizzo

Check out Kev detailed exhaust thread.
There is room for the pipes on the right side if you go the route Kev did.

Lots of quad exhaust threads
You can go Kev's method; piggy backing off the other side of the muffler:

Or you can go through the dual exhaust way:

Any shop should be able to fit another pipe as big as 3" around the spare tire.

Who's system is that in the second pic? It looks good but the shop put the tips on opposite to what they should be. The long sleeve is supposed to be on the outside so when you look at the car from the side it covers the pipe that would be left exposed before tucking under the rear bumper cover...Originally Posted by discoduck

It's my system lol.
The two tips shown in the pic are from my buddy's CLK550. I took his tips and unfortunately they are the left side of the tips so the longer sleeve is on the outer side. That's why it's a bit short on the outside.
I didn't want to get eBay tips since they'll probably not match my OEM AMG tips, nor did I feel like spending almost $200 shipped from parts.com. I got these for cheap and are hardly noticeable when the car is on the ground

I'm sure it's fresher and prepared by a lot cleaner people than some of the food they serve up around here...

lol ok.... i believe one other member has done it, but i haven't heard anything about it since.Originally Posted by Frank Rizzo

First i am going to get an ispection so i have another year before i have to get "another" one then...
Its basically going to be tru-dual setup.
NO primary cats. I am going to relocate the O2 sensors as far back as possible. the Primary cats will be replaced with pipe.
Magnaflow x-pipe muffler(dual in dual out) in the place where the secondaries were.
then more pipe, to an under the swaybar and around to the end.
Then they are removing my spare tire well and replacing it with sheet metal so there is more room and making it easier to run the pipe to the end (its not like I use it anyway).
I am having them put a flange right after the primary cats and another one right after where the OEM resonator would be. That way, if i dont like the sound or i get too many tickets they wont have to unbolt the entire exhaust to add a resonator or swap out the muffler.
After the exhaust is done i will be sending the ECU for a custom tune(eurocharged probably). I spoke to Jake at Eurocharged and he said that they could turn off the CEL.

On my car, (the dual exhaust tips) the longger tip is on the inside, the shorter tip is on the outside. I have no exhaust work done on my car, that's how it came from the dealer.
Are you sure the longer pipe is supposed to be on the outside?
