Carbon Fiber Interior

THAT does look OEM, but it's straight down, so you can't tell if it's too thick. Here's the sample I was sent:
It's thicker than the quarter and about equal to the two stacked pennies (that's "my $0.02", lol)
Please don't make fun of my messy desk or my Lego phone......

Anyone know a member betrezra? He claimed in that thread to have bought the kit:
I bought that kit and it was crapola........ cheap plastic rubber cf stick-on...... the fit was not right and it was real thick, so you saw the original finish underneath and the on the sides.
Not appropriate for a benz, a mazda perhaps, not a benz.
I threw mine in the garbage.

...but I still think it might look okay on Klinh's SLK.....or I hope so at least.

Man, sometimes I'm so STOOPID...I KNEW I'd seen a thread about this same CF stuff, and it was hard to search through the millions of threads I'm still subscribed to, but I did find it, and I'm the one that started it!! (I said I was STOOPID...Carlos, you posted in that thread too, BTW)

At the time. I don't know much about the product. I think there are plastic carbon, real carbon...etc. My friend's car look the plastic one that are thick. His car also came with brush aluminum and so the bright back ground does not go well unless the carbon part is perfectly cut to cover up every all the brush aluminum. Darker back ground like mine would not be ab issue.

I bought that kit for my clk55..... the over lays did not cover it correctly, so it looks cheap.
Perhaps they corrected the problem.
I ended up using mine for some custom cf cd case covers

I wish we could "tag" members like Facebook, but I'm glad betezra found this thread. Now, can someone please try taping this $hiz to their burled walnut and tell us how it looks? (I also need wheels and headlights)

I did manage to learn a few things from our experience with the arrogant veteran with the generic username. I had never assumed that my forum-mates with Asian surnames still lived at home with their parents (I used to think that on the W203 forum, lol) but I did think many were likely recent grads with great high-paying jobs and no parental responsibilities. Never did I imagine them having kids in college (I always assume I'm the old fart with the mid-life crisis on a young guy's forum.)
I also re-learned a lesson I should always remember: make your last best offer first, if it's something you want. His lowball and whine has painfully reminded me of a set of AMG wheels with tires that a member in MD wanted $650 for, and I stupidly teased a $500/shipped offer. I look back now and he countered with $725 shipped. I'd pay that all day now, in retrospect.....

I'm hoping to order a kit .... it says it taks 7-10 days to fabricate.
i am hoping that the new fabrication process takes into account prior customer's complaints about not covering the dash completely

Update:
I was very disappointed when I first un-wrap the parts. It not the hard real carbon fiber material like the oem. It feel very plastic because it an carbon fiber overlay and thicker then I expected. But all my disappointment goes away after the installation. It look BEAUTIFUL and blend in with the oem carbon fiber very nicely so I'm very happy. To honest, I'm glad that it not the hard oem material because I wasn't be able to re-install two piece of the oem carbon fiber back that was peeling off. The parts was deformed and peeling off due to sun heat. I used double side tape and it still not holding it. Mercedes used some kind of special glue/epoxy installed it at the factory.
Here's the negative parts. I wish carbon fiber piece that goes on the cup holder tray and the ash tray can be a little bit bigger so it can fully cover the part. It about 2mm to short in wide and lenght. Since it not fullly cover the part, there's an illusion of a gap as you can see it in the picture. I did try to position carbon fiber up and down in order to reduce the gap but with no luck because of the chrome nod center line on the part prevented the carbon fiber part to move in any diretion. the In my opinion to why they didn't make it bigger could be due to the cup holder tray and ash tray need to be slide in and out and it could jam if the carbon part is too big. The rest of other non-moving parts was completely cover perfectly. Here's the pics and the last picture is a close up of the gap on the two parts.

I know your standards are pretty high and if you didn't like it; you would have let us know.
Question: We know your original dash is black plastic but if was wood, would if be visible behind the cup holder and the ashtray after you installed the overlay?

I happen to have a picture of my Clk wood interior and after looking at the ash try, my answer would be yes very visible if the wood is bright color like mine.

It wouldn't be possible to wrap all the original parts would it? Look at all those little round buttons around Klinh's nav screen. Seems like the added thickness around the inside of each hole would make the part not fit. Not to mention how hard a job it would be to do that part. Also, you'd cover over a lot of graphics under those buttons on the right.

I think this is the kit that has a horrible fit.... (the disclaimer even says use a black marker to go over the parts that show! WTF!!!!!)
Im assuming that perhaps people who have had bad experiences with overlay may have purchased this kit and not klinh's company (for w209?)
or am I mistaken and someone actually HAS bought the w209 kit from the same company as klinh's?
just want to clarify bc i am gonna place the order soon
