Carbon Fiber Interior

Have anyone ever buy carbon fiber interior parts from these store? I bought a complete center carbon fiber kit for my Slk55 and it came in today. I haven't open the wrapping but the part does look good. I hope the fitment are good too. They also carry for Clk too.

I sure will if I have time this weekend. According to them, they said it the real carbon fiber like the one that came from factory.

I remember somebody commenting on it before, but Kevwood striked down the idea, so the member never bought it.

Let us know how it turns out!

Just with different seller and cost more then $100 then mine seller. I think it the same product as mine Based on these description.........

"Mercedes CLK W209 03-07 Carbon Fiber Dash Kit

$468.99

Make: Mercedes Model: CLK Coupe Year: 2003-2007 Material: Real Carbon Fiber "Kit is Manufactured when purchase with your CLK Options."You must indicate what color Carbon Fiber you would like on checkout ". Kit will take 7-10 Business Days to manufacture"

Is the Thinnest in the Market, .080 including 3M Backing No Adhesion Promoter Needed or Recommended, which is like applying Krazy Glue to your Dash, which will also Void your arranty on your Dash. All pieces have a Polyurethane Clear Protective Coating applied over Matreial , to protect against UV Damage, Scratching, and Spills All pieces are Lazer Cut, for Precision Fit on your Car, Inferior Dash Kits use promoters, because they Use Cheaper Backing".

I remember us discussing that. I gave my opinion on the matter because I've seen a lot of overlay kits and as much as one can make them look good in pictures - they never look good in person. Let me re-phrase that, they never look as good as a proper wrap in person, but then again, you get what you pay for so if a budget build is on taps, then it will suit the need.

Anyways, I hope the overlay you bought is okay and that you will be happy with it.

Well, according to them, the material is the real carbon fiber like you would order from Mercedes for your car but the installation would still be more like an overlay because Mercedes does not make the center console carbon fiber.

Kev is simply participating in civil discourse, offering his opinion for the betterment and enlightenment of the w209 community. You, however, have made no notable contributions to this forum and simply partake in harassing a member over his car, economic status, and name. There are a myriad of insults I could hurl at you, but why bother? This is a car forum and I come here to admire other people's cars and learn about their mods, not read your pathetic incoherent ****. On that note, please cease and desist with the harassment as I, and I'm sure many of my peers too, would like to enjoy visiting this forum without seeing a member being harangued.

hey klinh I'm rootin for you

if this looks good (I suspect it will) I'm gonna buy next

in my opinion CF plastic parts look more OEM than wrap which is why i haven't wrapped yet. CF plastic overlay has more body to it - similar to our boot lid spoilers and front lip

Oh no..........it look good to me but I haven't remove the shrink wrap yet. Are your real carbon fiber like the factory. One thing I hate about real carbon fiber, if the product is not curve or lay flat perfectly, it hard to put them on with out it try to pop out.

I swear we had this same thread already. That eBay seller sent me a sample. It's beautiful, but thick. The $250 kit has to sit on top of your burled walnut and it's gonna look like CF bandages......

It not for my Clk. These are for my Slk55. I wouldn't put these over any kind of wood because it will add thickness/height and make it look ugly. My kit are for the Slk55 center console only which is bare plastic. I don't have any carbon fiber on the center console, the additional carbon fiber on the center console will blend in with the rest of the oem carbon fiber beautifully.

it looks like a direct overlay with little bulking effect

i wish there was someone on our forum who would have tried it on their CLK for sure

They'll send you example if you ask for it. You can just place the example on any part of your car and see how it look.

THAT does look OEM, but it's straight down, so you can't tell if it's too thick. Here's the sample I was sent:

It's thicker than the quarter and about equal to the two stacked pennies (that's "my $0.02", lol)

Please don't make fun of my messy desk or my Lego phone......
