Why does no one want this?

Saw a 2005 CLK55 AMG Cabriolet on Ebay twice now, triple black, all options($91,000 sticker). It is asking for a bid of just $22,000, buy it now for $24,000. It has a slightly above average autocheck score, no accidents, 49,200 miles.
Condition isn't noted but can't see any problems.

Anyone have any general ideas why no one has an interest in a car like this?

Because I'd really rather have a Buick.

Must have sold this time - I don't see anything that matches that price/mileage.

2008 CLK550 Cab
Bidding ended again with no bids. It does look like a really nice car if it's what you are looking for. I'd pass on the crome wheels , but if I wanted a 55 cab I'd def look at that one seriously. Must be a really slow market right now.

I could see people getting turned off by the chrome wheels.

The location of the listing is also freezing this time of year. Convertible sales tend to peak during the spring months in temperate climate zones

I guess the same could be said for this with 7000 miles for $22K on cars.com, no?

I thought those cars made alot more power? Pretty low on power compared to a current E550 coupe, not to mention an E63

Yeah the CLK got short-changed by MB back in the mid 2000s. I can understand the C and SLK not getting Kompressors for their AMG V8s, but the CLK55 that cost just as much as the E55 should have gotten supercharged.

Probably a big part of the reason why the car in this listing has such a low asking price

What turned me down was the dirt in all the interior pics. I mean if you're trying to sell a car online at least clean the damn thing before snapping pictures. Looks like the owner had kids eating cookies and all sorts of crackers inside the car and didnt even bother vacuuming the crumbs.

the contemporary m3 e46 was offering 343 ps, I have had one and i bet my ***** that no one here can get it to its limits without being in a straight line , 367 ps is not so little power. It's not very sporty but the problem isn't its power, IMO the main failure is its gearbox and suspension (and being cabriolet, of course)

Funny you would mention that as it's really a minor item, but I, too, noticed it and it kinda followed thru in my mind to the parts I couldn't see. Also, there's no mention of it's condition anywhere I could see. But it sure is loaded with all the goodies.

Even with it's big sticker I get a feeling a CLK500 fits the bill for more people, but I'm not sure why.

KBB trade-in value (which is really closer to the real value of a used car) is only $21K for "very good" condition. This one is probably a bit overpriced.

YOU GOT IT !!!!!! ive sold alot of stuff on ebay over the years ... and ebay buyers are looking for deals ... do they usually end up getting a steal NO lol ... but if you setup your action @ the highest price possible expecting to sell fast ... your going to get these results ... zero bids and relisting ...

if you want to sell anything on ebay fast ... you have to list it below retail ... and watch the bidders get it back to retail or alot of times above retail ... why it happens like this ?? i dont know maybe just for the thrill of the auction maybe or the fact folks on ebay think they are the only ones bidding lol ...

i sold an sorpanos letterman jacket on ebay ... listed it for $0.01 ... my auctioned ended @ $205 and there were buy nows listed for $130!!! ... ijs lol ... u gotta know how to play the game lol my buyer was happy and all sent fast payment too and you gotta keep in mind you gotta be willing to take a risk on listing your items below cost you could take a lost ... but from my expierence as long as you got a strong selling item that folks are looking for ... if its does sale below market price it usually doesnt fall that far below ...

i was looking to start selling used vehicles on ebay and from my research cars generally sale fast there if you keep them @1-2k below retail ... most used cars are brought 3k-4k below retail so thats plenty of wiggle room to sale the car and make $$$$$$$
