Just got an email from my SA: tranny work will be $1283 total. No response to my query about MBUSA eating all or part of it, as it's a "known problem." Oh well, I'm in sunny St. Maarten in a villa perched high in the hills, driving a $175/week Toyota Corolla $÷itbox. Check out the ride to my driveway:

It was, like $850 in parts and 6 hrs labor on the quote/estimate I attached in the other thread (I can't attach it here now cuz I'm on the mobile site; this villa has a laptop but I think it's hooked up to tin cans and string, lol)
Now it comes out to like $570 in parts and $870 in labor, less 15% off I get with a discount card the dealership had sent me. The main part, 000 270 17 00 88, seems to have gone from $600 and change on the quote (check it for me if you have a second) to $393 on the bill. "Under-promise and over-deliver" appears to be the strategy! How about the thrill ride video link? No comment?

Thanks, good tip, but I'll have to do the math on euro tranny + shipping + install. Still no comments on my Corolla beater video??

I'm tellin' ya, it's a treacherous drive, 'specially in a Corolla. Video doesn't capture the slope, maybe 65-70 degrees...
