The definition of insanity...
...is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expect different results. So I have this insane guy in a BMW 335i who keeps trying to beat me and he can't.
My office is in an industrial area fed by a flat and mostly straight 4-lane highway that has long (2 mile) stretches between intersections. It was built to handle a lot of truck traffic, but the area is only 10% developed, so it's not heavily traveled and is a great road for "blowing out the cobwebs".
At least once a week, the guy in the BMW 335i sedan who works in a nearby building tries to race me. And every time, I easily win, whether it's from a dead stop at light or a rolling race to the next light. I know he has a manual, which should be a good 0-60 competitor for the CLK550, but maybe he doesn't know how to drive it. Still, all it takes is a blip of my throttle and I jump ahead very quickly.
Anyhow, today we started from a cross intersection, making a left onto the highway with him ahead of me at the light. I knew he'd take the easy route to the inside lane so I went to the outside. I didn't even turn off ESP and was ahead by three car lengths before we straightened out form the turn.

You know, one of these days you're just going to say "f-it" and let him go. Then, approximately 2.4 minutes after he reaches his dwelling he will have a post up on BMWbumchum.com or whatever bragging about how he laid waste to a heavily modified CLK550.

@Toga: LOL on the pic! But I have to admit, I have been a BMW driver! I had an X3 for a few years (long story, it was the wife's fault). But I never parked like that!
@Mikata: I just shake my head and chuckle. Really, I enjoy it, especially in the morning - it really gets my blood pumping.
Oh, and I forgot to mention - he's debadged. I know it's a 335i, though because of the wheels and exhaust setup.
