I got it for £10 ($7) and I havent found a digital one on eBay yet. Also you dont gain any more functions by adding it to a car that didnt come with it from new.

Mod 6): Trip to COMAND.co.uk to add a couple of options to my car via STAR, sort out audio issues & to clear the SRS error I had caused when facelifting the dash.

Added:
-Tank content (Gallons)
-Temp display on all screens
-Digital speedo with temp display
-Netherlands Setting

Wasnt able to add auto/folding mirrors however as my car is too old

Didn't the amg badge come stock in some countries with the amg appearance package? I understand the distaste of someone putting a badge where it doesn't belong, but if Mercedes put it there? Anyway, nice car and nice refit of the center console!

I think it does not come stock in any country: you have to buy it separately. Anyway, we should respect everyone's taste.
Are you going to drop the car?

I think it's called posing.... It's not an AMG and you should not have the AMG badge on the car.... your car would fit right in the AMG Posers thread! Otherwise I love pretty much everything you have done to the car!

Its my car, I paid for it. I am the only person who makes the decision as to what should or shouldnt be on my car. I could put an M3 badge on it if I wanted it (I wont )

This forum is amazing, instead of commenting on what I have done to my car/what I have planned, the only thing which grabs attention is a 12cmx4cm badge on the boot.

No wonder this place (W209) section is so dead.

I want to start off by saying the car is looking great! Keep up the good work! Am I losing it or is there no exhaust tip on the car now?

On the AMG badge.... I completely understand that its your car and you can do what you want to it. I personally would never put an AMG badge on a car that wasn't an AMG just because in my opinion It's the same as putting an M3 badge on a 335i or 328i. Although it is your car and I respect that so like you said if you want to put an AMG badge on your car you can BUT people are going to rip on you for it no matter what forum you are on (w203,w209,w208,w202,ect.) even be prepared to get ripped on by people that see it in person if you run into somebody that knows about cars. That's just the part of having it on your car. If you like it then and want to keep it on your car then your just going to half to laugh the comments off.

By the way... That gas milage is crazy! I wish I got half that! Between the V8 and my lead foot Im lucky to get 15MPG!

Actually, that will be miles per Imperial gallon, which is larger than a USA gallon. Still, it's about 40MPG US. I'm not sure how he got that! I never get anything lower than about 17 in my CLK550, but I often get around 19MPG around town. I'm no grandpa (well, I am, but I don't drive like one!) but I also don't keep my foot in the firewall, either. I enjoy a spirited highway merge or pass or a takeoff from a traffic light, but mostly I just get up to speed quickly and stay there.

As for the AMG badge, I know MBZ puts AMG-styled parts on non-AMG cars, like exhaust tips, wheels, etc. I think that's OK because the manufacturer does it, but putting an actual "//AMG" badge on the trunk lid is, to me, no different than rebadging a CLK320 as a CLK500. Or even rebadging a C230 as a CLK230 (yes, I've seen one around town). If this were a Ford Mustang, it would be like putting Shelby or Cobra badges on a V6 model.

you clearly don't want people to know it is what it is, because the 270 and cdi badges have dissapeared too... I do agree it is your car and you decide, but you put yourself in a group that is not being taken seriously by a lot of people (on here and anywhere else). It is a shame in my opinion, because other than that everyone seems to love everything about the car. the badge is NOT the only thing that we comment to on here!

Anyway, I think we should be focusing now on a more constructive discussion than a badge sticked on the boot, don't you think?

I will start saying that lowering the car and installing new wheels with a more aggressive design will improve incredibly the looks of the car. You can buy some AMG III 18'' on eBay for example and install eibach pro kit springs. IMHO 19'' look too big and will decrease both comfort and performance needlessly. And it is not expensive if you sell yours.

Thanks for all the comments guys! ive been on this (and mbclub.co.uk) for nearly 10 years now and im well aware of the badge comments - heard them all before

The cars previous owner had put the AMG badge on it, not me - I will take it off in the end but it doesnt bother me as much as it bothers you guys!

If you look in the W202 section, I had a C43 AMG, wheels, exhaust etc etc and that was de-badged.

I guess I'm the only one in here that thinks the AMG brand cheapens a Mercedes-Benz lol

Thankfully, I'll never have a SLS, or the Gullwing would be missing the AMG badges lol

It's your car. It's your money. Who the h3ll cares what anyone else thinks. And yes, it's missing the Black Series Wing and badges!

I bet you've never heard one of these engines. It's horrible. Seriously, I also have one, the V6, and I will NEVER buy a diesel car again.
