Replacement battery suggestions?

Personally, I use MBZ batteries. If it dies, you can probably call MB Roadside Assist and get them to replace it for only the price of the parts (around $200). I say probably because MBUSA modified Roadside Assist last year. I used to be for the lifetime of the car, but now, they have decided that if you weren't the original purchaser of the car when new, that they don't have to honor that. If you are the original first buyer, then you're covered no worries. If not, you are covered if the car has been serviced by an MBZ dealer in the previous 12 months. If none of that applies, then you still may be able to get a battery replaced - it's up to the dealer who runs the Roadside Assist in your area. They will tell you when you call (1-800-FOR-MERC).

Daytime: Slow and easy with 2006 SL500 & 2003 S430 . Night time: Hard and Fast with my wife
couple years back i replaced battery on my '03 S430 with one from Sams Club Took the battery to an independent garage for install and code reset. Total cost : 90 battery + 45 labor . Put about another 10K miles since then and so far so good. And get this, the car sit as you can imagine with that low mileage, 1 to 2 weeks at a time and knock on woods, no issues w/ codes warning, etc... still staring strong at ignition.

I replaced my battery 3 years ago with a no-name brand battery. I went to a local store and how sells only car and truck batteries. They replaced the battery with one with exact size and I paid $100.
The new battery did not cause a malfunction but I did have to reset all the windows and sunroof.

If it fits and has the proper amperage rating, it should work. I just like the MBZ batteries as they tend to last. The original battery shipped with the C240 lasted over 7 years - that's the longest I've had a vehicle battery.

The genuine battery will go 8 to 10 years (100Ah)
My old C240's battery is now 10 years old & still tests & works fine.

2004 CLK 500 with AMG Package, Not Convertible
Sorry for bumping this old thread. But today in the morning 04 CLK500 was heavily trying to start and then eventually completely gone, no response at all. Clock was going in circles and moving.
I gave it few mins, maybe 5-10 and jump started it, started on first attempt.
I am regularly driving the car for almost 40-50 miles with 10-15 miles in one go and some small trips couple of miles(2-4).
Question, is battery gone or almost at it's end? It's an interstate battery at the moment and I think it was replaced in 2012 by previous owner.
MB is $167 with $35 core, so more like $135. Any recommendations for any specific battery? Does Costco sell battery for it?
Can I let car run, take the old battery out and replace with a new one or no it's not possible?
Thanks for the help.

I recommend the Advance Auto "Platinum" - it's an AGM. I have it in the C240 and even after sitting for weeks at a time, and almost never being driven much, it starts right up.

2004 CLK 500 with AMG Package, Not Convertible
Just called and talked to Mercedes roadside people, they are able to replace the battery for $180(roughly). Does this sound like a good price?
I could get AGM one, but is it easy to replace in the car? Do I have to be concerned about anything? Any heads up?
AGM would be roughly $150, while MBZ would be about $180. Which one is better?

I'll try to see the sticker tomorrow morning in daylight. Lets say if it's still under warranty, where can I take it for replacement or warranty coverage?
Could you please share a pict of the sticker?
Also, back to my original question:

The sticker will just be on the top of the battery marked for the month and year when it was purchased.
Its simple to change, the cover comes off with clips. Than you just need a socket for the hold down and loosen and remove the cables. Just simple hand tools.

Thanks, what about syncing all electronics and all? Any other tips/heads up if I try to do it by myself.
Unfortunately, I am traveling and all of my tools are back home

yea you probably would have to reset the windows. I did. I forgot how though, but its easy, im sure you can google it to find how. It was just a sequence you had to do with window switch, take less than a minute to do all 4.

I can't remember anyone complaining about the service life or fitment of a Mercedes part. On the other hand you can search any of the forums and find many complaining about different "off brand" products. Foe an extra 20 to 30 dollars why take a chance?

This is pretty cheap, as compared to MBZ battery and AGM. Has anyone tried it?
