CKS Quad Exhaust Experience?

I am considering using the CKS product instead of a custom quad. Any input from experience or investigation would be appreciated.

I have since added Kleemann headers but the rest of the system remains unchanged.
hi friends, in order to achieve more engine power, I have the day still a couple Kleeman Headers and Kat from CLK55 AMG attached. Now the engine management will be voted on. I'm excited to see what he has on performance. Greetings from Germany

I like the sound clips I've heard of the CKS. They are a bit hard to deal with however and seem not very willing to talk about their product to a potential buyer. Maybe their reputation precedes them huh...

I'm going to change the mid pipe back to 2.5" OD (about the same ID as OEM) pipe to the manaflow 12266 (instead of the 12267) and run 2.25 OD pipes to the tips. Since the cores of the 67 and 66 are the same (2.5 OD) and the upstream pipes, x-pipe, and y-pipe are all 2.5 OD, I'll keep everything the same size to the muffler (turburlence management).
I'm hoping the 2.25" output will give me a bit more "crackle" in the exhaust note. Also hoping the x-pipe already in will negate the need for a 11379 or 11386. Adding another muffler would neccesitate work on the section forward of the mid pipe and I think that part of the exhaust is currently excellent.
I plan to leave the secondary cats in place. I may be a bit overly concerned about removing them since I have the tiny kleeman primary cats. I assume the seconadies do some cleanup when they eventually get hot enough, and may help to keep my neighbors from rebellion.
The resonator is already gone. Will let you know how it goes..........

Let me know your thoughts. I will get more pics and sound clips next week. I will try to get someone to film a couple of drive by runs.
The setup is 2 vibrant resonators - magnaflow x-pipe - magnaflow 2/2 14" muffler - pipes to tips. The seconadies were replaced by the vibrant resonators and the x-pipe was left in just because it was part of the old setup and I figured it wouldn't hurt anything (as opposed to saying I would sell it and then trashing it next year). 2.5" 18 gauge pipes are used from the end of the primary pipes (2" I think) to the end of the system.

After I get back in town I will have the installer finish the alignemnt of the tips and I will get a couple more sound clips. Hopefully I can get one with the car accelerating.

I was quite nervous leaving my car for 5 days (these guys have numerous performance projects in progress all the time), but was very pleased with their work and care. And was just too happy with the sound and the way the car responds.

I see now. You removed the secondary cats (post catalytic converters). I would guess that opened up the exhaust note more on your car.I think what I referred to as the "resonator" is what you refer to as the "front silencer".

I noticed the smell of gas when I would fillup on the way home and then park the car in the garage. The wrap (DEI titanium) worked fine and reduced the heat enough to prevent too much heating of the gas tank. No gas smell after 20 mile drive and fill up.
Because it still concerned me a bit, I bought a Heatsheild kit and wrapped the pipes from the muffler to 3-4 inches past the differential. This is some pretty neat stuff. It wasn't hard to install and although the metal cover for the insulation gets very hot (like any metal) but you can hold your hand within 1/16 of an inch and barely detect the heat. The areas around the pipes are now only slightly warmer than those not near the exhaust pipes.
I am totally comfortable now that I'm not just waiting for the car to explode.....

I bought it from Summit Racing.
Great stuff. I have a question in to them; can the exterior be painted without adversely affecting its ability to greatly reduce radiated heat. If any of you know, let me know.
