Broken side view mirror glass

My right side view mirror glass shattered. I want to buy just the glass and replace it. I do not know if I have side view mirror dimming or heater element.
How do I find out what my car was delivered with by just the VIN # W D B T K 7 5 J 6 5 F 1 4 4 9 6.
I would save lots of money by just replacing the glass, that is, if no dimming or heater element is installed.
Thank you

I got mine from ebay united kingdom. $15 and it was heated, no auto dimming. The fit wasn't perfect but it worked. Just needed w209 and the year to get it.

FYI, you are missing a digit in that VIN - there should be 6 digits after the last "F". Usually only the driver's side is dimmed, but both are heated. You can get a non-dimming, heated glass from parts.com (assuming you are in the USA) for under $100.

Driver side has auto dimming, but the right side doesn't. I just bouhgt the right side view mirror glass on ebay for $20. The part I bought doesn't come with heater element.

Rodney,
Yes! you are right! I'm missing a digit on that VIN#.
It should be 144396 after the last "F"

It's no big deal on the lack of heat if you don't drive in a lot of snow and ice. I'd probably not buy a heated glass if mine broke - we rarely get freezing precipitation here and besides that, I wouldn'd drive the CLK in it (that's what the wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee is for).

Only the driver's side is dimming and even that you can put a non-dimming one like I did since it's much cheaper (kind of better now at night since I have tints). You can find used one's online for like 40 50 bucks, new ones are around a 100 or so. All of the mirrors have heating feature (at least here in the US. two little tabs on the back of the mirror that these two female connectors from the housing plug into)

Hi, did you have to modify any connections or wiring to fit a non-dimming mirror?
I have the dimming mirror which has gone all hazy due to failure of the dimming function and a replacement from a dealer is £360 !!!
Any help very much appreciated
Regards

No the wires clip straight on for the heater element. Just tape the dimming wires out the way.

exactly what tw2 said. no modification. i had the exact same thing happen to mine. the chemical had leaked out. the dimming wire is just a two prong plug and there was an empty space in my non-dimming mirror to just slide the plug into

auto dimming is the way to go but it is pricey.
