CLK 320 Door rattle solved
I just wanted to post this in the event someone down the line has issues.
I recently got a 2005 CLK 320. Shortly afterwards, the passenger side door started rattling. I figured it wasn't that serious, but I thought for sure that the door would have to have the door disassembled. Not being very good mechanically, I figured this would be a nightmare (if someone online says it takes 30 minutes, I figure it'd take me 10 times that).
BUT, I saw a thread here that mentioned that nuts can come loose and to check the bottom of the door. I decided to give a quick peak, but I figured that since the door was rattling so loudly that the issue would be more major than that. I looked under the door and saw the rubber caps.

I pulled one off (by hand) - nothing. I pulled the next one (which was bigger), and out dropped a nut. It had come off completely.

Here is what the exposed threads looked like looking up into the hole.

So I put the nut back on and tightened with a socket wrench. Rattle is completely gone. Total time - 5 minutes. I can't believe I drove the car for several months like that when the solution was so easy. Hope this helps someone somewhere down the line.
