Question regarding 05 SLK55 6/4pot calipers
so im thinking about getting a set of 6/4 pot off a 05 SLK55 and noticed the seller has 1 piece rotors for the front and back.
can someone tell me if that is correct.
Front caliper part #
PART NUMBERS: 20.8885.04 1A & 20.8885.03 1A
DISTANCE BETWEEN THE MOUNTING HOLE'S IS APPROXIMATELY: 11CM (CENTRE TO CENTRE)
Rear Caliper part#
PART NUMBERS: 20.8043.03 1 (SAME ON BOTH)
DISTANCE BETWEEN THE MOUNTING HOLE'S IS APPROXIMATELY: 7.5CM (CENTRE TO CENTRE)
Rotors
Front:
DIAMETER: 338MM,
Rear:
DIAMETER: 330MM.
what are the other rotor options i can use for the front.
Thanks!
also, we should have a Sticky of some sort with all this information in it

no
6 pot calipers for the clk/slk55 series use 2 piece full floaters up front
other than oes i think there may be 2 or 3 aftermarket suppliers and $1100 give or take is what a pair will set you back.
1 piecers in the back available cheap on amazon and elsewhere

The 6 piston calipers can come with 340mm rotors or 360mm rotors. The 340mm are the cheap, once piece ones. The 360mm rotors are 2 piece and are part of the performance package and are about 600$ a piece.
The rear rotors are 330mm, 1 piece, regardless of performance package or not.
Calipers are the same (different mounting brackets to accommodate for the larger calipers).
There really are no rotor options for the 2 piece front except for OEM and racingbrake. I stuck with OEM because prices are the same and the racingbrake ones are marginally smaller.

simply incorrect at least for the clk55
there is voluminous discourse on this topic
340 mm 2 piece front rotors are stock on the 05/06 clk55amg
the 360's were for the clk63
i do not know when the slk55amg changed over but i suspect 07
it is possible that someone finally did produce a lost cost option although i find it hard to believe there is much of a market for them
i put some drilled and slotted ***** rotors on my rears about 5k miles ago and they looks stock and work just fine. the pair cost less than a single oem!

Yup. What I mean is that if you have the 340mm calipers you can throw the 1 piece 345mm rotor on without issues. I remember reading plenty of people did that. That probably explains why the set has 1 piece rotors in the front.
If you have 360mm rotors you're screwed. No 1 piece options that I know of.

Thanks for the clarification guys. Like I said we do need a a sticky with all this info.

Racingbrake offers a replacement for the 360mm rotor that only costs $585 a piece.
RB designs and engineers brake products that not only perform better but also fit better than other OE replacement options. For example, the reason we use a 340mm rotor instead of 345mm or a 355mm rotor instead of 360mm rotor is to eliminate rust rings that develop on the inner and/or outer edges of the rotor where the brake pads are not making contact with the ring like in the picture below:

However, the OEM 360MM rotors are 564$ a piece vs your 585$ a piece and that's on sale. MSRP is 650$. Replacement rings alone from you run 505$ a piece. For comparison purposes you can buy Wilwood 16 INCH rings for about 430$. This is nowhere close to competitive pricing...in fact it's more than OEM.
As far as your products being superior where are the test results? Do cars with your rotors brake better? By how much? How long do your rotors vs the OEM ones last? There are a lot of claims on your site without a shred of data anywhere. Again, it's great that you give us all options but I doubt the Racingbrake name has the same value as say...Mercedes or Brembo to warrant the higher prices, especially without any conclusive tests.
I am not sure about any rust rings. If the pad is missing a large chunk of the rotor that's indicative of bigger braking problems, not Mercedes failing to size rotors properly for a car they engineered. I haven't noticed any rust rings on the 345mm OEM rotors or the 360mm ones on my car.

Bough a used 2006 SLK55 from a local guy last year.
I have problems buying pads or discs now as well. According to your reference, mine is mis-matched.
Model 2006 (Canada Version)
SLK 55 AMG
6-Piston Front (2-Piece Floater), it seems on 340mm diameter.
4-Piston Rear (1-Piece)
Front Caliper Part Number: 20.8885.04 1A (Right Side)
NO Performance Package or 030 etc.
Couldn't get parts with right description. Even the local dealer oem parts online store got them wrong.
No idea if it is a regional problem.
Most of the suppliers are selling pads for 6 piston (360mm Disc with Performance Pack), or they simply classified as 4/2 pads.
Pads are due soon, need the right part numbers urgently.
Thank you very much.

Front pads: they are the same for 360mm (with PP) and 340mm brakes, simply because the calipers are the same, the only difference is a bracket witch holds the caliper to knuckle. Part # 0054203920
Rear rotors: are the same for PP and none-PP brakes, part # 1714230212 , Brembo part # 09.9257.41
Rear pads: A bit trickier, I have 3 part # 0054204120, 0034206220, 0044204920. From what I know they are all compatible, the only difference is that on some of them there are aluminium tabs (for easier removal, probably). I don't remember which part # I used for my car (I had slk55 calipers as well), but my pads had those tabs. (see picture)

As you said, front pads are the same on 340 and 360 rotor, but the Brembo website gave out 2 part numbers for front pads,
P50053 (Exc. PP)
P50092 (PP)
So if 0054203920 is the one you used, then this may equivalent to P50092 (PP).
I am not sure if I am in the right thinking.
Thank you very much.

Ok ,seems like P50053 pads are for 4 piston front calipers (from clk500,clk550,c32 etc) and P50092 pads are for 6 piston from calipers. I think this confusion is because slk55 probably was offered in Europe with 4/4 calipers setup and 6/4 was an options (unlike in US).

If I understand correctly for US/Canada market all slk55 were equipped with 340mm (6 pistons) front and 330mm (4 pistons) brakes, but in Europe those brakes where optional.
If you want to be 100% sure you can post your VIN and I'll check in EPC exact part number for your car.

I agree about the marketing part, its seems like i have 4 piston in front but here is the VIN: WDBWK73F88F175438, if i can get the front and rear rotor /pads part #s that would be great
thanks
thanks

Yeah seems like you have 4/2 setup (the same as early clk55, clk500/550, c32, etc), although I think clk500 (US) doesn't use perforated rotors but still 330mm. Here is part numbers from EPC:
Front Brake Disk: 2034210912
Front Brake Pads: 0044209020
Rear Brake Disk: 2104230812
