Engine Mount Part Number

I just received he engine mounts for my 2004 CLK320. They are OE parts with MB packaging. The part number on the box is 203-241-11-13 but the part number of the engine mount itself is 203-241-04-13.

I checked autohausaz and the part number is 11-13. Are the 2 part numbers the same? Why 2 part numbers?

I called the dealership today and they told me that 1113 supersedes 0413. Not sure what this means but he ensured me that both would be OK for my car.

I will go to an indie to install these mounts. When I went to replace my tie rods a few weeks ago, I did not buy the bolts and I have to rush to a local dealership to get them. Now I am wondering if I need any other parts in changing there mounts (motor and transmission mounts).

Correct - the next to the last pair of digits in MBZ mart numbers generally indicates a revision, so "11" is a newer version than "04".

I bought these parts from an US online stores which sells OE parts. Strange that the box says 1113 and the engine mount says 0413. I also noticed there is a part number in the outer cover sleeve which says 1113. I feel kind of cheated since I ordered by part numbers and I did put down 1113.

To replace these mounts, should I get any other parts; bolts, lugs, etc?

No, just the mounts - reuse the old bolts.

Thanks again, Rudeney, for your clarifications.

I passed my the indie (Sprinter specialist) and he should be replacing my mounts next week. While he changed the mounts for other cars including the C class, he was not sure if he had to disconnect the exhaust system to replace the mounts for my car. He also said that the AC might block the mounts. Now I am a bit concerned!

Since the engine will be raised, is there anything in that vicinity that I should replace or look at?

Officially, you would remove the MAF sensor and exhaust system for clearance to lift the engine, but in practice, all you need to do is lift it just enough to get the bolts loose and get the new mounts in and this can be done without removing anything.

Hope this will work. The car is old and since I am doing this in an indie, he will not have the proper MAF clips if any breaks.

For my car, is the AC in the way?

It shouldn't be. It will be a tight job, but it should be do-able without removing the MAF sensor or exhaust.

I went to my indy this afternoon intended to replace the mounts. He put the car on the hoist and removed the 2 under panels. He looked around and told me that it would take 3-4 hours to replace the engine mounts. Since it was already 4pm, I had to come back some other time.

He showed me that for the right mount, he would have to remove the alternator. For the left side, he would have to remove the exhaust (manifold?) and maybe other components on top. He said it's much easier for an E class.

Not sure if I should try another indy or maybe the dealership.

I think this csn be done without removing any other parts, but I am not as familiar with the CLK (and yours is a CLK350, right?). I've done a C240 and nothing had to be removed; I just had to carefully lift the engine to remove the weight.

This is a 2004 CLK320. He showed me and the alternator and exhaust were indeed in the way or at least it would be very tight to work with.

I called the dealership and they would charge 4.5 hrs to replace these mounts ts.
