NO LONGER ACTIVE
Yes, most all of the tuners will sell you a device that plugs into the OBDII connector and downloads the code.

OE Tuning has flash loaders that install the tune via OBD2 with out removing ECU. Please contact us directly for more information sales@oetuning.com or +1818-574-5075.

I don't see any OE Tuning products listed on the website for a CLK 550. Mine is model year 2007.

I just looked up an ECU tune for my car. How many maps does that extra $200 option add on top of the tune itself?

Eurocharged tuned my clk500 with the OBDII cable mentioned above and remote access through a laptop.

I used OE Tuning after I removed my exhaust and replaced it with straight pipes. They shipped me a device that allowed me to take the stock ECU map off my car via the OBDII port. After I sent this file to them via email, they replied and sent me tunes based on octane and one valet tune (limits speed of car). I uploaded these files to the device and then remapped the car myself. It worked well.

Has there been any problems like idling weird, misfire, etc.? Is the maintenance the same as before the tune? How were the gains? Thanks

No issues. Yes the maintenance is the same. Just make sure you know if the dealer will reflash for any reason. If so, you will need to replace with your map again. I did not measure any gains. But, noticed things worked better with my exhaust setup which does lower torque in the lower RPM range. With my setup, the car is best when driven above 1900 RPM. I normally shift manually when driving around town. Now, if I could change the shift points for the TCU, that would be great. But, I like manual mode anyway. My setup is great. I am glad I went with the straight pipes!
