I met Jay - Z in person, and he is a really well spoken individual. His english is so proffesional you'd confuse him for a business man, he doesn't even speak "ghetto" when you talk to him in person. He has to be the best rapper in the market persona wise.

Confuse him for a buisness man?? he IS a buisness man. one of the best you may ever meet. as he has stated many times he started off in the streets and turned a single key of dope into the entire Roc-a-Fella empire you now see (record label, clothing, etc..) hes like P. Diddy but he actually has lyrical skills.

now ill admit he has a tendency to boast, and puts out an occasional pop song, but currently hes one of the best MC's alive, and will remain one of the greatest now that hes retired. personally i feel his first 2 and last 2 albums are his best. and with the black album he brought it full circle back to the sound of 'Reasonable Doubt'.

AMG BRED,

p.s. may i ask how you got the chance to meet him?

he was actually here in town, ran into him at the mall... i walked by him first and then a few seconds later i was like "heyyy.. wtf.. that was Jay - Z" and i turned around and talked to him for a few mins... before word spread in the mall and was stormed by teenie boopers.

In fact on the Black album there were a couple of verses that caught me off guard about the 'pop' thing(the name of the song escapes me...). He says he KNOWS that he did pop just to so everyone else can 'feel' him. He can rhyme like common and what not other 'soul' rapper but why? Its the thruth though. His first couple of albums are deep. No bling no ice just lyrics...but did he catch on? no he caught on w/the gimmicky lyrics and hooks and look what happened, homeboy is rich, influential and I heard he is trying to buy the Nets. I though he was trying to make his fans feel stupid w/that song but it just explains why he dropped pop along w/his albums. Oh yeah chrome IS ghetto:p

Jay Z best album was reasonable doubt. Hard knock is pretty good as well. I also liked the Roc la familia.

I went on the purchase his next two albums. THe blueprint. and BP 2. I tossed them both. Blueprint was a joke. BP2 has some ok songs but the album was ****.

I have not listen to the black album yet tho. I still listen to reasonable doubt once in awhile.
