Wheels 38mm offset
Hi Guys, Will a 38mm offset be okay for the W209? With 225 tires on it will they stick out? I do not want a ghetto ride. thx

Assuming the wheels are same width as stock they will sit further in as your offset is higher. +38mm ET means the whees are mounted 38mm off the center of the weel towards the outside, which will result in a more narrow stance.

Thanks for the responses. My next question is there should not be an issue with it sitting further in should there? It's just a 3mm difference right?

If the tires and wheel are the same width, then it is just 3mm. If they are wider, then it is 3mm plus half the difference in width. Check how close your tires are now to your struts in front.

Okay I see. They are basically the same looking rim.
On the car 17 x 8 with 245x40x17 tires ET 35
What I want to put on is 18 x 8.5 with 225x40x18 ET 38
What do you think? Sorry for the hassle I just do not want to waste money without doing research.

you will need min 35et for front @ 18X 8.5. for my 2007 clk 550 I just went from stock staggered 17s w/ 35 ET to 18 X 9.5 rear & 18 X 8.5 front w/ 35 et all around. no rubbing & no spacers but in the front now I only have 1/4" clearance with the strut (factory strut is manufactured with an indent) and about 1/8" clearance with brake caliper (probably should have gone w/ 32et in the front). key point is no rubbing. good luck
