Check Engine Light '04 CLK500
The light came on in the speedometer, but in paging through the displays, computer says no faults. I had forgotten to screw the gas cap on at a fuel stop and got the warning for that but putting the cap on fixed the warning. Any way to find out why the light is on?

If your check engine light is on, your computer display won't tell you what is wrong - you have to read it with a code reader. However, it could have been caused by the loose gas cap. That will trigger a code for a leak in the evaporative system. It won't shut off right away. Drive it a few cycles and see if it goes away.
