Snow Storm
There is a snow storm coming and the forecast 20cm of snow.
My w209 with full snow tires handles very poorly on snow. I know that extra weight in the trunk will improve traction. I am wondering if it would help if I put the extra weight on the rear seat, instead of the trunk. I am thinking to put 3 summer wheels/tires (17 inch AMG) on the rear seats.

Try lowering your air pressure, try 32psi, forget the tires in the back seat, more dangerous if something makes you stop fast, if you know what I mean/
Drive using second gear for starts and just be gentle on the throttle, no big deal, nobody should be in a hurry in 20cm of snow.

My w209 is a CLK320 and in winter, I use 16-inch MB wheels with tire pressure of 31 front and 33 rear.
I know that adding weight in the back would improve traction. My question is can I add this weight on the rear seats instead of the trunk? I think my 17-inch summer wheels/tires are good for this purpose but I can only fit one in the trunk.

Put whatever weight you want in the back seat, but as "Critter" says you're at the same time installing missiles that if you stop quickly could be your undoing. Put the transmission in "C" and drive like you have an egg between your foot and the accelerator.

I don't drive fast on snow anyway.
I can put 3 summer wheels and tires in the rear seats. This should equate to 150 lb. This should be safe because the car is designed to sit 2 persons in the back.

I am hoping you are trying to be humorous, riding around with tires on your back seat will be hilarious, why not put one in the passenger side also.
Now straight faced, go buy two bags of sand 50 lbs apiece, put them in the trunk. Leave the seats for passengers. The more weight you add to the car the more weight you have to stop.
