Eurocharged TCU for $1800, NOT $499 !!!
[QUOTE=gixxerboy;6558643]Eurocharged said they can do it for $499 and get back to me next day.
That's interesting, after reading this thread, getting Input to determine that the SRT8 3.06 from a 2005-2007 was the way to go, I bought it and have been informed that the TCU has to stay in car and be calibrated via OBD2 port, not by way of mail-in, and Eurocharged told me over the phone that total cost would be $1800, that is after paying $300 deposit and wait indefinitely until they scheduled an appearance in Miami, and then I would have to Tow my car 100 miles after installing the modified 3.06 differential and pray that the TCU Tunes works in order to drive back home!
Not exactly what I had in mind as I thought there was someone that I could mail my TCU to who could flash the TCU to change gears to 3.06 ( and do the TCU Tune upgrade as a bonus) while I continued to rebuild my rear end and perhaps Mail back before I finish up in a couple weeks, but alas that's NOT a possibility after all!!
I also talked to RENNTECH here in S. Florida as a last resort, but to my surprise, they had no TCU Tune to change the gearing, only Tunes for OEM gearing.
iI also was referred to contact "Tony" who was a guru at RaceIQ who could be trusted, but after speaking to his "associate" I was informed they couldn't calibrate my TCU because of MY 2007 E63 7G TCU being located above the Valve body inside the Transmission (NAG2-VGS2) NOT like E55's where the TCU is located in the Passenger foot panel. When I said I could mail them the TCU, they said they couldn't separate the cover in order to gain access to the EPROM, so they don't do it via OBD2 Port but most likely via using K-tag/Kess rig which obviously is NOT applicable to my NAG2 TCU
Shardul referenced a guy from Germany who years ago was able to calibrate the TCU by simply disconnecting the Electrical connection of the Tranny and flashing it directly. This would be ideal as I would be able to send the TCU to whoever does it this way, but alas, I'm hearing crickets......

I have been reading this forum about differential gear ratios and the many incompatible models, etc. IF what one wants is a lower gear say a 3.07 vs a 2.5, another and far lower cost to get the same result is to change wheel and tire size. A simple revs/mile ratio is trivial to do and the R/M is available off of tire rack. More revs/mile equals a higher ratio (say from 2.7 to 3.07,) Of course the absolute grip of a smaller tire may not be acceptable for some uses. It's all about getting the desired wheel revolution per engine revolutions.

Yeah, that. Would defeat the entire purpose as the stance of my E63 is right where I want ( stock, not dropped down limiting the effectiveness of the sweet Airmatic !!!). I've been sourcing tile for a new roof and just built a kick *** computer, so my E63 rear end build has been sidelined for a couple weeks! I did just bust the move on the purchase of an MFActory Helical LSD, so hopefully someone "Out There" can chime in to let me know if I can send my TCU (NAG2) to be flashed to accept the 3.06 Ring & Pinion from the SRT8 Diff I just got off eBay. Otherwise, I'll just stick the LSD in with my standard gearing and be set with a more than modest upgrade, but NOT what I have been endeavoring to do since the start, that is, to convert the rear gears to 3.06!!!!!!!

I believe programming will indeed be required, however the NAG1 was used in those transmissions and is totally different than the control system (not to mention transmission itself) used in these cars. I suggest the w210 forum here for better answers. I know their was a thread on the 210 55 FB group discussing this as well.
