MB’s of all kinds.
I am more of a OEM guy but for a aftermarket system that does not look too bad at all. Check Youtube for videos of how to install and remove the head units.

W203 C180
I've just installed one today in my W203 C180. Sounds decent, starts up relatively quick
and the touch screen is pretty responsive. Only problem I'm having is I can't figure out how to access Google apps (which it supposedly can do) or get the navigation to start up!

I am about to buy what looks like a similar or the same unit.
How difficult was the installation?
Did you lose any functionality? CD Changer? Radio? Steering Wheel buttons?
Any error codes, etc.

I was debating taking it into a car audio place and letting a pro do it so I am curious if it is something I can handle.

Thanks

Same Issue for 2007 CLK550 - Radio Replacement

I am looking to upgrade my stereo to a touchscreen w/ bluetooth - I'm not sure if I have the HK or the Bose system and I believe it is under the fiber optic line but not sure which type (MOST etc). I am willing to get rid of the cd changer (currently I am trying to put in an aux cable and tried to use an FM transmitter) I just don't want to rewire. Can I retain the amplifier the car came with? I would like to retain the same quality sound. I need to play mp3 and be able to use google maps or WAZE even on my phone with audio through the system. And would like have vid capabilities. No need for GPS nav or Phone cap. Any suggestions? Thanks beforehand.

Your MY2007 CLK550 will have the Harmon-Kardon system using a MOST fiber interface. You should already have an AUX input jack located in the glove compartment on the right side (assuming you have a left-hand drive vehicle - please update your forum use'rs profile with your car and location!)

If you replace the head unit, I do not believe there is any way to keep the factory amp. There may be some aftermarket interface, but I am not aware of anything. You will lose the entire fiber bus, so no factory CD changer, and no TeleAid (mBrace). You will need to run analog audio wiring from the dash to the trunk, then tie into the speaker wires there after disconnecting them from the HK amp.

I am note sure if you need to run new wiring or not! Some of those aftermarket systems designed for MBZs actually have fiber outputs so they are plug and play. Check the installation manual. If it does not have fiber audio output, and your car has Bose, then you'll need to run analog wiring.

Below is a link to the Audio 10 pinout. While this is for the non-Bose system that would have speaker wiring in the dash, I believe the colors of the wires are the same for the Bose amp connector in the trunk.
