2005 clk ACTIVATE RDS DATA
Has anybody been able to activate the RDS data on their radio to display song and station info? I heard its been done on other models. It would be cool to have this feature if it's possible. Thanks!
Also: I can't seem to set the time on my comand unit. The timeset is not highlighted when ignition is turned on. The clock is off by 2 hours.

I don't know anything about enabling RDS. I poked around in SDS and didn't see anything, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.
As for setting the time, if this is a factory installed COMAND, then the clock is set based on the GPS time. You simply select the time zone and then tell it if DST is in effect or not. Press the SERV, then select the TIME button, select the time zone, press the OK button (in on the joystick) then select Daylight or Standard time, whichever is currently in effect. If this does not work, then I suspect you have a retrofitted COMAND and the car has not been properly coded for it.

you retrofitted comand from a 2008 into your 2005. There shouldn't be any coding to do unless you hear no audio. about RDS, thats region specific, meaning you cant enable rds on a US comand system. Euro comand systems have rds and have different hardware, so its not something you can enable in STAR (i had retrofitted a euro comand into my US import).

Well basiclly the issue ur having is that the inturment panel has no idea you have nav installed. If you do get access to star you need to access the instrument panel and then enter control unit adaptations>variant coding then there you will find navigation : not active. Which you switch to active. Then from the same control unit you can tell the car to either get the time from your gps unit or manually through the instrurment panel menus. Do bear in mind i did this a long time ago but searching around in the menus inside the instrument panel should lead you to it.

Oh wait. I noticed the time was still off by two hours on both the comand and the instrument cluster. I tried to set both but the timeset on the head unit is still grayed out and now the time/date under settings on the dash is not showing up. What is going on here?

When the instrument cluster is coded for COMAND, its time/date setting function is disabled and the clock gets its time from COMAND, which is set via the GPS system. You said you have a MY2008 COMAND unit retrofitted? I believe your button is labelled "SYS" instead of "SERV". That unit is not compatible with your car's bus. I don't believe it will ever work.

Rodney has alreeady explained that. If you cant find that then the guy who set your comand system to setup time shouldnt have done that and set it to adjust manually through the insurment panel.
