I'd get the cheap pump if you are going to install it yourself. If it breaks, install another one.
That would be waste of money and time. This is simple swap.

We are talking about the washer fluid pump here. This isn't a critical part. I would not want to buy a crappy one that will fail in a year, but then again, we're talking about a $25-$45 part. I'd by OEM or genuine.

I completely misread this thread. I thought we were talking about the water pump, the one who circulates the coolant. Sorry, guys.

Yep always buy genuine mercedes or the exact same part from whichever sub contractor it happens to be. 10 years is pretty good for an original washer pump. Will an aftermarket one last as long, doubt it, does it matter for a washer pump, not a lot. Pelican parts usually mark who the OEM supplier is next to the listings so you have the option to buy the same thing for less and without the star on it. As Rodney pointed out, Mann make the filters, Lemforder make most of the suspension parts, Bosch make most of the electronics etc.

That's what I meant by cheap. Under $50. Didn't OEM's are under $50. Lol
Well.. Stupid me.
It appears I didn't push button hard enough. This is strange because I went in the car another day just to push it in harder and it didn't. Today I got mad pushed all the way and it blasted a stream.
So, now I have pump coming for no reason.

Oh dear. Hahah well. It could just be that the damping material for the button was stuck or something. Never mind. One less job to get around to

In the instructions it says to push it past initial resistance.Originally Posted by merceBENZ

Like you, I thought mine was bad, until I read the manual and tried again.
Mine sprayed the garage wall behind the car though. Took a while to get the aim right.
It was somewhat stuck because I purposely tried.
Now I got one more part laying around. Feel bad to return because this is my fault. Waste of money on shipping.
Damn...
But on positive note I got one problem less to worry about.

I guess handle is quite tricky.

So I was right? LOL.
You were! 100% But I did try to push it harder and it just didn't go. But after I bought part and got it shipped, it works now!
