What is Rear window aerial/antenna for
My rear window has a bee sting right at the top of the window.. Is this for radio or telephone? When I bought the car there was no telephone connected
I am wanting to remove it to fit a window spoiler will this ruin the radio signal? Is there a way to disconnect it and test radio signal
Thanks

iirc, i saw a roof spoiler that has a cut in the middle to accomodate the antenna. you just have to find the right part for your car model.
Cars with no pre wiring for phones didn't have an aerial fitted. Thus the aerial for radio must be an in built antenna.
CLKs are out there pre-2006 without an aerial, but still a fully functional radio antenna.
Must be for the phone. Even if it doesn't have the phone dock in there, it must be pre wired.
Neither of my CLKs have teleaid, since they are UK cars, and that was not available in the UK.

Took about 2 minutes with a heat gun and small straight razor.
Much cleaner look without the silly antenna honestly.

So I am looking for one of those Antennas you all have deleted and I was wondering if any of you guys had one sitting around.
I have a bone stock 2005 C230 Kompressor.
For some reason.... someone stole mine, havent a clue why they would want that.
Anyone able to help?

Having trouble with p.m.'s
The antenna base which is adhered to the glass
became deformed when removing and I put it in the trash
I have the mast which screws on to the base
The dealer wants $75 for one - incredible
If Radio Shack stocked them - maybe $9.99
Let me know if you are just looking for the mast
Thank-You

I only need the black mast, the base is still attached to my rear window....
If you send me your email address, I will send you pictures of EXACTLY what I am looking for...... I think we are on the same page though.
Or I can send you my email.... whatever works......

I used a razor knife to gently separate the base from the rear window. Once there was about 3/8” of separation I used a piece of steel safety wire secured between two screwdrivers and basically used that wire to cut the base away from the window.
What was left left was some grey adhesive on the window. I coated that with some Goo-gone, waited about 2 minutes then removed the adhesive with ease.
Finally, I used some window cleaner to finish up the job.
The whole process took less than 10 minutes.
