I own a CLK200 W209 2007 and I have a problem with the multi-contour seat, the air controls that adjust the seat shape for your back, legs, etc.
It used to work for the first 4-5 presses of the knobs but now it doesn't work
at all.I checked the small pipes and they fit ok,also the fuses are ok.The problem is the same for both front seats.
Any help will be appreciated,i suppose there must be an air pump somewhere if anyone knows where.

Regards

You have a vacuum leak in the hoses leading to the seats. Since both are malfunctioning, it may be at the firewall.

There is no vacuum pump - it uses the vacuum created by he engine intake. The firewall is the "wall" between the engine compartment and the cabin.

OK, I need to stop using crack. I would have bet $10,000 of someone else's money that we have previously discussed the location of the air pump - and it was some fellow named Rodney who told us where it was. But if there is not one, then I'm very curious - how does vacuum inflate a bag?

Check the air pump. I think it's located on the left side of the trunk. You probably need to remove the paneling.

Well, thanks, Yidney for keeping me honest (or at least from going totally senile!) I keep getting my models confused. Years ago, many models use engine vacuum for the seat bladders. They still use it for lowering the headrests on some models (W203, W209 coupe) and door locks and trunk closers (CL, SL, S) but the seats are operated by an electric air pump:

I wonder if that's where it is located on a convertible, or, if like the TPMS antenna, you have to guess where it is. That wold be right under the top fluid reservoir in that pic.

Yeah, it probably is in a slightly different location on the cabriolet. StarFinder has no photos of it (and FYI, it's part M40 not M33 as indicated in that WIS doc - M33 is the secondary air pump on the engine). EPC doesn't show anything more, either, except from the appearance of the vacuum lines, it would be on the left side of the trunk. Happy hunting!
