2008 CLK550
New CLK Owner

Hey guys here is my new (to me) CLK550 in white with stone interior. Car has 21,3xx miles and I just took delivery today. Searched Autotrader for a couple months looking for either a clean white or red 550 and finally this one popped up at a Ford dealership in Arizona. Purchased it sight unseen and had it shipped out to me. I'm the third owner according to Carfax, but I think the 2nd is the dealer when they took possession. The guy that traded it in was a "snowbird" who rarely drove it. The interior is flawless and exterior is about 8/10. The only surprise was there is fender well damage and slight damage to the rear of the passenger side skirt. It most likely originated from a blowout. Other than that I'm very pleased with the purchase and had a blast driving it earlier. I'm not new to MB or their V8's, I also owned a C55 for about a year a while back. Looking forward to a few tasteful mods but nothing crazy. In the second and third pic I swapped out the side marker with a clear Depo marker and slapped in a Bright white LED bulb. Its pretty bright hopefully it doesn't attract any unwanted attention.

Home sweet home where she belongs.

The first mod.

They are pretty bright.

That is a drool-worthy car fer sure. Rodney's stamp of approval means that you indeed scored a true gem, of the sort I dream of owning some day.

looks great! look into AZNoptics (vendor here) or similiar for some nice other LED/HID options as well...I went with 5k morimoto low beams/fogs and city light LEDs changes the car drastically

I'm thinking of swapping the Ice Blue LEDs for bright white. They are bluer than I expected. Not too bad looking though...

Yea swap the leds to white. Blue just looks ricey imho... Plus you give a reason for the cops to pull you over. I know in VA if you have ANY blue on the front of the car you are getting pulled over quick.

Car looks clean though!

Congrats!

Thanks. Yeah I ordered amber LED bulbs for the clear side markers and white LEDs for the front lights.

I have an e46 for 7 years now. Great car but I'm ready to move on to either a CLK 550 or an SL550 My biggest complaint about the e46 is that it's underpowered.

Had I had the time then yes, I would have flown out to see it first. Unfortunately I didn't and given the price that I was getting it at, I just couldn't pass it up. I would say I definitely got lucky with this one, but I will never buy another car in this same fashion. It was mostly stressful and frustrating dealing with everything over the phone and mailing documents overnight.

Also to add, I wasn't afraid of a little maintenance or repairs as I'm used to DIY with all my cars. I did about $4K worth of work to my C55 (dealer estimate) within the first month of ownership. Changing 16 spark plugs was definitely the hardest so I was praying the car ran smooth with no spark issues, which in this case it did (knock on wood).
