Cool feature i found out today with the windows...

I bet all of you know this, but i found this out today. Was playing with my CLK500, and i noticed that when i hold down the unlock button and aiming it at my doorhandle when the car car is locked, that it made all my windows windows comes down and sunroof open. And hold the lock button down, aiming it at the doorhandle closes all the windows at the same time, including the sunroof! I thoght that was pretty damn cool. ! wish my ML had that kind of stuff. You have the hold it down for the entire remainder of the windows going up or down.

UNLOCK AND HOLD = WINDOWS DOWN
LOCK AND HOLD = WINDOWS UP

I'm surprise you didn't know that.... I thought the dealer would of told you that as its one of their selling point
BTW... you can also do that on the old W202 as long as its got the little infrared on the handle to aim at, my friend didn't know that until we gave it a try.... he brought the car 2nd hand....

Cheers,
Ho

don't forget about the recirculating button.. when it's turned, keep it pressed, it will roll all the windows down and open the sunroof in one touch.. with the recirc on and keep it pressed, it will close all the windows and sunroof in one touch

I don't get whay you mean by "when it's turned" Pressing and holding the button does nothing.

ok do this..

1. switch on the AC / Climate Control.
2. now i don't remember what position it has to be in for it roll down the windows or roll 'em up but press the recirculating button and keep it pressed.. if nothing happens, then let go and do it again - press it and keep it held down for a few secs.. it will work. When i mean Recirculating is on.. there will be a red light that will turn on, on the button when the recirculating function is on.
3. Unless this is exclusive from AMGs...

Folks,
AMG Bred is right. Press and hold the Recirculation button and the windows and sunroof goes down. Includes the rear quaters as well!!! Press and hold again, and it all goes up! But the AC/climate control knob needs to be on for this to work.
Its amazing its taken this long for me to find this out. THis whole time I thought it only works bringing the windows up.
Thanks AMG Bred!

This doesn't work for me - does it work for you?? Would like to know if it's just mine that doesn't work or others also. I don't know why holding the recirculation button (which recirculates inside air) would open the windows.

there are two positions to a recirculation button, - on or off.. when off, it will roll down the windows, when on.. it will roll up the windows to keep the air within the car.

Can't help you there as I don't have the same climate control unit because mine's only a 240, but if your not sure, you should just go down to the dealers and ask them for a test, that climate control unit is the same as the C200K and above, I'm sure they will have one there to play with.

....That's what I did when I thought my driver's side window was faulty when it only stops once if you stop the path when its winding up.... found out it was the same on all new Mercs, anti-hijack feature.

Cheers,
Ho

I think I got it figured out. The way it apparently works is the recirc button remembers the last position that the windows were in when you used the buttons to open or close the windows. The reason mine weren't opening when I pushed the recirc button is because the last time I used the window button was to close the windows. After opening the windows with the window button the recirc button will then open and close them. If I open the drivers side window all the way and the passenger side half way (using the window buttons) then thats the way the recirc button will also open them. I have shut off the car & re-started & it still remembers the positions of the windows but I don't know how long it retains the memory of the previous position. When I leave work I am going to see if the recirc button still remembers that the last use of the window button was to open them all the way. I believe the manual says that the recirc button returns the windows to their previously opened position.

Ok, checked it after work and it does not retain the memory of the last position of the window. Would not open them with the recirc button until I again used the window buttons to lower the windows. After that, the recirc button would continue to lower and raise windows until I shut the engine off and waited a couple of minutes after which again no go. Apparently memory is erased with the shut down (damm) I assume that is the case with everyone else's. Also FYI the charcoal filter button does the same thing.

wow - there are actually two threads on this, even though it's all in the manual...

but just to repeat my favorite trick here - if you have a CLK Cab, you can "double-click" the roof-open button, even while at speed, to automatically open all windows. do a "double-lift" of the button to close all windows.

this works while the top itself is up or down... nice shortcut.

All you cab owners did know that, didn't you?
