Service Interval Reset

I have a 98 clk 320 that I bought a few months ago. The car still runs great but I had to fix alot of things. The only thing I do not know how to resolve so far is the service interval. I have 730 days since last service and it has stopped on that.
I was trying to clear this but it wont. Does anyone have any idea as to how to fix that problem. Please don't tell me the reset procedure of the manual as nothing happens to it. Somebody told me to remove the battery and it didn't help either.
instead I had additional lights after I put the battery back which I was able to resolve after research. I also tried an obd with an oil reset feature and nothing happens. It seems that the obd does not communicate with the ECU. Any help with be
greatly appreciated. I don't want to just bring it to the dealer as they will charge tons of money for something that may be so simple. Thank you!

Why can't you reset it using the normal button sequence through the cluster? That's the only way aside from using a DAS/HHT

Then you must be missing a step or the button is broken.

Check this thread, starting at post #4:

There is some discussion about difference in the 1998/1999/2000 models.
