I have had the same type issue. P0300 and P0305. First CEL was following general maintenance (oil, filters, etc). It ran rough for awhile as I let it idle. The misfire ceased. I thought I must have gotten some water where I shouldn't while cleaning the engine a bit.
A couple months ago I had to replace a blown radiator, and a month ago the alternator. (I was pretty sure the alternator was failing even before the radiator replacement; did not like the repair shop I had towed the car to, go did not have it replaced.)
Over the past couple weeks I could tell something was not right based on the acceleration and an occasional fluctuation in rpm while at a light. Got a P0305 I believe yesterday. Had to drive about 3 miles home. Was wondering if I would make it. I was checking cylinder 5 connection and the coil receptor broke off as I was removing the plug. The coil is toast....... The plastic on the coil side looks heat stressed - sorta crystalized like and crumbly....
I'll replace the entire set and spark plugs ( ~60K miles since replaced) when the parts arrive next week. I think the wiring plug will be ok..... I think in my case, some coolant may have spayed cylinder 5 coil when I had the radiator fail. May have affect the others on the driver's side as well. I read somewhere long ago that coolant can do bad things to plastics and electrical wiring.
Having a scanner and logging the errors was helpful.

I replaced the coil pack and the spark plug for the P0305 error and I am still getting misfires. I let the engine idle for awhile in hopes of getting more info; and I did.
P0355, which says an open in the control wire for cylinder 5 detected.
I have a plug on order but believe the open would be farther downstream from the plug. Probably where the shield was opened some 6 years ago.
There are 4 wires to the coil. 3 solid color and 1 multi-color. They are white, blue, green, and yellow/green. Can anyone tell me which of these would be the control wire???????? My guess would be the yellow/green one but there is limited space to jumper the torn area and I would like not to do trial and error.... again.

Guessed correctly on which was the control wire. Could not effectively verify an open, but it could have been high resistance due a tear into the insulation and the wire. It's probably been torn for 6 years as a result of what the dyno guy did.
I used a couple of wire splice connectors and a small piece of wire to bridge the "weak" area. Runs fine.... No CEL....
I will splice inline when the coil connector arrives sometime next week.
