Is there an empty tub under the front seat ?

Hello everyone , I have a 2004 clk convertible and i am looking to find a place to put a subwoofer inside the car . I have seen some Mercedes have an empty well under the front seats . Does this car have the same thing ?

No place large enough fro a subwoofer. Maybe you could do a custom enclosure to sit between the rear seats, like the cabriolet uses.

I was looking to do that but the cost for building the box was crazy . I am surprised that I can't find anything about this . Or anyone who has done this

Yea i saw that thread but that really doesnt work very well for convertible. The trunk is sealed from the cabin and the sound won't come through . in a stock system this works but i have aftermarket system which is much louder and a sub in the trunk wont do .

Oh, I did not see that yours is a cabriolet. You already have a subwoofer there between the back seats. Why not just adapt that with a larger diameter speaker and amp?

the sub is only 5" . I tried adding a 6.5" but it sounded horrible and not to mention even with aftermarket 6.5" it can only push 150W . Which is not even close to work on my system . I went kind of over the top and added 150w RMS per speaker in the front and 100W RMS per speaker in the rear . Since its a convertible and i drive with the top down I need the power . So that 500W RMS on 4 speakers alone . So I need to fit in a 10" with 500W Rms at the least to match my system . I spoke to someone who builds customer boxes and they basically gave me 2 options . Build a box in the trunk with over 1000W and run ports into the cabin in between the rear seats . There is a plastic cover that covers up an opening in between the rear seats but running it with such long ports is impossible . Or he can build me a fiberglass enclosure that goes in between the rear seats and hold 2 8" but the box alone is around $500 . And 8" are not really for bass there good for mids .
