Got this weird "diagnosis" message on COMMAND

Started up MY08 CLK350 this morning, got this weird "diagnosis" message on the display when accessing NAV or MAPS on COMMAND?!? Several reboots via restarts and/or ejecting and reinserting the NAV DVD throughout the day resulted in the same message. I googled the hell out of this and found nothing??

Just took the car out again, 6 hours later and everything seems OK again?!? Does anyone know about this? I have attached a screenshot...

I'm not sure if this is an ongoing issue or not, any insight is appreciated...

Thanks

Do u have anything connected to your diagnosis connector under your dash? That message is usually displayed if you try to communicate with command with a diagnostic tool?

An update... What I have found is that when I pull in the garage (GPS signal blocked), the "diagnose" message goes away and the MAPS function shows my car accurately at my home however, as soon as I back out of the garage and the COMAND tries to sync with GPS signal, the "diagnose" message reappears. My initial guess and hope is that the problem is with the GPS antenna, a relatively inexpensive part.

Can anyone tell me where the GPS antenna is located on a CLK350 convertible?

If it was the antenna then why does it make a difference when you pull out the garage, best is you hook it up to xentry and do a proper diagnosis.
GPS antenna sits above rear roof lining at the rear window

OK - just had a new soft top installed last week - is this the culprit?

That message should only be displayed when the car is connected to SDS. I doubt the canvas work has anything to do with this. There is no reason that job would involve any of the electronics in the trunk or the antennas in the trunk lid. But I guess anythingis possible.

"GPS antenna sits above rear roof lining at the rear window"

Just for clarity, I have a CLK convertible not a coupe. Where is the GPS antenna in a convertible?

Thanks

Pretty sure it's in the trunk lid, as Rodney said. Open your trunk and remove the clips holding the black liner in place. Lots of stuff under there.

SOLVED! - Got this weird message on COMAND

Now I know why nothing came up on Google - what a corner case! As I mentioned earlier, the COMAND NAV/MAP function would work in the dark garage and it also worked last evening but as soon as it senses daylight, it displays the "diagnose" message. I also have a SmartTop installed which connects directly into the MB CANbus. One of its other function/options is choose which lights to use as "Daytime" lights. I just enabled this function the other day which now I know, completely conflicted with the COMAND NAV/MAP function during the daytime - unbelievable! I just disabled this option and the COMAND NAV/MAP function now works perfectly.

Thanks for everyone's inputs!

Aha you see, it was sending diagnostic messages on the bus as if a sds was connected! Good find.

Hmm, I had a SmartTop on my CLK, too (and it has now been transferred to the SL). I also used its DRL function and never had a problem like this. I'd go download their latest firmware and update the unit. If you can definitely duplicate that problem, I'd contact their support - they are very good at helping.
