Comand Unit buttons stopped working

hello all,

The buttons on the Comand Unit (satnav/cd/radio/telephone) stopped working all together from one day to the next. The screen works, the radio and phone still work and I can operate them via the buttons on the steering wheel. However, none of the buttons on the unit work. Has anyone else had this before or could give me any tips on what it could be? My car is a UK 2007 CLK320.
Many thanks in advance.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Try resetting it by pulling fuses. Also, I think you can hold down the power button for some length of time (30 seconds?) and it will reboot. If none of that works, then it may be an internal fault inside the COMAND unit.

IF your buttons are killed by spillage it only takes a few minutes to swap out the face plates.
I got one lying around somewhere if you need one.

That is very kind of you thanks! Unfortunately it wasn’t due to spilling anything.

Hi, sorry to come in on a tangent like this, some of my buttons on the COMAND are scuffed and worn, can you replace the buttons on the unit (sounds like that's what you meant?) and where can I buy them. Thanks in advance.

They work again!!! It’s a miracle. Radio still worked and wouldn’t switch off after I locked the car. Pulled the radio fuse out and back in and all the buttons work again! Happy days
