clk320 c209 2002 (the new model. not 208)
Need a turnsignal stalk for my clk

I have a clk 320, 2002 year. When looking on ebay there are none that fit C209, as it says in my registration and also is the only option to choose when selecting car on ebay.
I use the search "mercedes clk 2002 turn signal stalk" and everything is for W209.

Need a new one as the stalk won't stay in place when turning right, and has also started to not stay in left (sometimes). And i need it fast because i only have 4 weeks to get the car legal again
(in sweden).

Anyone have links to other places than ebay that might have it?

The "W209" refers generically to the 209 chassis. To get specific, it can be designated as "C209" for the coupe and "A209" for the cabriolet. For this part, that does not matter as they are the same. Please update your profile via the User Control Panel link at the top of the forum and add your country and whether you have a coupe or cabriolet. That will appear in the left panel next to all your posts and greatly help to get you better information. Note that if you are NOT in the USA, then what your country calls the "year" of your car may not correspond to the "model year" like we use in the USA. The "model year" is the important factor because that is how car manufacturers designate chassis changes. Prior to MY2002, the CLK was a "W208" which is totally different. Also, the cabriolet for MY2002 was still the W208 chassis. The W209 cabriolet ("A209") did not come out until MY2003.

Assuming you are in the USA and you have a MY2002 CLK320 coupe, then you have a "W209". The part number should be A0005452310. There was a revision to that par for MY2005, so if you are considering used ones, make sure to get one for a MY2004 or earlier W209/A209/C209. .

Well i am in sweden and my model is NOT the 208. The shift between 208 and 209 was 2001 here. so 2001 it was 208, 2002 it was 209 and the do not look the same. .
It is a coupe i have. Have never seen a cabriolet. i will add that info.

So that means i should use " A0005452310 " part..

Where do i find it then?

MSRP of a new one at a dealer is US$145. There are a few dozen dealers here that sell parts online at a discount, and it's around $110 + shipping.

I would add that you can find used on eBay for example. Probably twice as cheap

Well if i order from US i will also have to pay customs and swedish tax 25%, so no.. The one i linked to is in UK and we don't pay any taxes from EU (they are still eu members).

And a used one could work if i found any, but there is a chance that will also be bad or get bad in like 6 months

clk320 c209 2002 (the new model. not 208)
Hello again everybody.

I got my new turnsignalstalk, and it works.. kind of.
I have some problems now.

First: i changed it according to a youtubevideo, where i turned the steeringwheel 1/4 turn anticlockwise to get to the screws that hold the airbag. I was careful not to turn the position sensor block.
But it has screwed anyway. Now the stalk does not return to zero when wheels is straight. The 0 position seems to be 1/4 turn of steeringwheel clockwise instead. So 180 degrees from the
position i locket the steeringwheel at when dismantling.
How do i solve this?

Second problem: I was stupid enough to try the stalk with power on BEFORE i reconnected the airbag. Now i get SRS error AND ESP error.. Grrrr
SRS error i get why, but why also ESP?

I will have to get to a shop to reset SRS right? Also ESP?

ESP light is probably on due to not initializing the steering angle sensor. Turn the wheel fully lock to lock and it should clear that, if not, read the code and see why it's on.

I'd invest in a scan tool that can read and reset codes from all MBZ systems. The iCarsoft i980 or MBII, or the Autel MD802 Elite are reported to be good options.

Well my main problem for now is that the "center" of the steeringwheel is 45 degrees clockwise. How do i recalibrate the steering angle sensor? As it is now, the turnsignal stalk resets to center then wheel is turned 45 degrees, not at center.

I found this for instructions how to adjust all needed. Is it correct?
http://benzbits.com/w209/SteeringWhe...ngPosition.pdf
I think the "yellow tooth" is moved. I remember seeing something in a hole and i think i wiggled it to see what was in there

Will try this approach next weekend when i have time to work on it again.

ESP error is not possible to get rid of as long as the position sensor is off i think.

Yes - the clockspring is still good if all the components above it are working.

Everything working now. Calibrated the angle sensor and clockspring correctly and got rid of the ESP error at the same time. Visiting a shop on tuesday to reset SRS error.

But now i can't set my clock. I have no menu for it in settings, and timesetting in the stereo does not work. I get to set date and hour, but as soon as i enter minutes the settings freezes.
Last time i needed to set the clock i turned on the radio and it set after the RDS signal. It does not work now.
