What's the widest rim and tire size I can go on the w209 CLK without rubbing?
SubscribeHi, I'm new on this forum. I just got my CLK and I'm seriously thinking about getting new rims for it. However, I want to go for the wide look with 19" wheels. Could anyone tell me what are the widest wheel and tire sizes I can use without rubbing? HELP VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. THANKS~!

The widest size without rubbing is 19x8.5/19x9.5 with 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 tires. But mind you, it also depends on the offsets of the wheels and the brand of tires.

I'm running 19x8.5 front with 235s and 19x10 rear with 265s. No rubbing at all and my car is dumped with a full sound system in the trunk.

I think tire has some difference. depending on the sidewall how angled or straight it is.

I pretty much have the same set-up as Sharka. Car is sitting on H&R springs and does not rub one bit.

If you have custom wheels like HRE, it doesnt matter whether you're getting 19x10 or 19x9.5 because the lip will look the same. The extra 1/2" is added on the inside. But if you are getting Monoblock VI, 19x10 will have a deeper lip than the 19x9.5, but chances are you will have to roll the rear fender a bit.
THX SO MUCH GUYS... I think i'm gonna go with the 9.5" rear cos i don't wanna roll the fenders ... but hmmm... still deciding on the wheels.... Thx again... you guys have been great help...
Btw, if i wanna get coilovers, which system do you recommend?
