2003 clk500 dyno mode

Hey guys I’m new to this forum an everything and I have been trying to figure out how to get the car in dyno mode I tried everything. All the videos on YouTube an the post from previous people talking about this I still can’t find anything. Is it not available for my car or something I’m confused. Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

I think the instrument cluster software in some of the early models did not have this.

Own 2005 CLK500, but drive 2011 Sienna :)
For some who have no idea about it - what dyno mode provides? How it is different from the normal mode?

When testing the car on a dynomometer. typically the rear drive wheels will spin against the machine's rollers, but the front tire remain stationary. The car's ESP system will interpret this as the rear wheels slipping, so it will intervene by selectively braking the rear wheel and cutting back the throttle. When you press the button on the dash to switch of ESP, it only disables the throttle cut-back function, so selective wheel braking is still enabled. Dyno mode will totally disable it as if the car has no ABS/ESP at all which would be necessary for proper dynomometer testing. Or for doing "donuts".

That's what I thought. I wonder if there are dyno stands, that actually spin the front wheels as well in the same speed as rears.

The front wheels do spin. The slippage Rodney referred to is due to the DRIVE/rear tires slipping against the dyno drum as you accelerate. It would be a bit difficult to get a good hp/torque plot with the engine retarding or the brakes being applied by the ECU to maintain stability.

No software update that I know of, but you could try pulling the fuse.
