Car battery left me stranded - again

Confession: The last time this happened was four years ago. So, the current battery lasted 12 months past its 3 year warranty.
My proposed solution: Change out the battery when the warranty expires. Please feel free to offer another solution that you use.
You might ask why I didn't just have him jump it. And the reason would be that before, it resulted in some electrical issues and I swore I would never try to jump it again.
I would love to hear others' experiences with their battery dying.

It might be counter-intuitive but it is heat that kills a battery, not cold. So it doesn't surprise me that a battery in the south takes more of a beating than one in the north.
Anyhoo, I like your idea of just replacing it after the warranty runs out. Funny, a few days ago I was thinking I should think check the date on my battery and replace it if it were too old. As per usual, I still haven't done it lol.

There is a lower bracket that secures the battery with two 13mm nuts to hold it in place. I used my 3/8 ratchet with a 12" extension to loosen them. Luckily I also had a magnet on a stick because the nuts are not going to stay with the socket.
An additional note for ALL: My shop manual says "regular batteries" don't have the reserve capacity and only AGM type should be used. Yes, it's going to cost you $200, but much better than OEM option.
