FM Modulators

Hi all. I just bought a 2007 CLK 550 Cab for my girlfriend and we love it. I am trying to pair a phone through blue tooth and it was suggested I buy an FM Modulator. Does anyone out there have any recommendations as to brand?

Thanks

Bill

I use one of these in my 03 CLK500. This shape fits the cavity without interference on the woodgrain or ashtray door. Works fine for what it is. So cheap you can toss it if you upgrade later.

Before I replaced the head unit, I got a 3.5mm Bluetooth adapter that came with a bare unterminated 12v connection.

The 3.5mm went into the aux in seen in the other pictures.

I used the glovebox light for an easy 12v source close by. Never had any issues, but I did take care with the connections.

I like this setup: https://mr12v.com/the-products/ols/products (click on the Mercedes one).

Easy to install and easy to remove; it's the best Bluetooth solution I've found so far. I've been using it for 1.5 years with no issue. The only drawback is that you can't take calls when listening to the radio (but you can when listening to Bluetooth).

To connect power to the CD changer wiring, I used a 3 Pin Cable Fan Power Extension (like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/254416870618). Didn't even have to cut any wires in the car.

Also, hopefully this is a very long-term girlfriend situation. Not sure I'd ever buy a girlfriend a car unless we were effectively married lol.
