2009 CLK Cabriolet - SRS Light
Buying a 2009 Cabriolet today that I just had PPI'd. Everything came back very good, mechanic commented that the car appeared to have been very well maintained. The only problem is an SRS light I am hoping to start chasing down some answers to.
Code from the machine specifically says: The ignition circuit with component R1 2/7 (Right rear ETR ignition squib) has short circuit to ground.
Also has the same code but with 2/6 vs 2/7.
Is this potentially a simple loose or bad wire or something more? I am relatively handy, so want to fix it myself if I can, before I take it to a shop. Seller gave me a slight break in price to account for it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe I misinterpreted your post. My apologies.
He suspects lose or bad wiring, but being it’s an srs code and it’s fairly proprietary to MB, suggested I have an MB tech take a look.
I’ve seen a lot about the resistance being too high at the squib, but short nothing on short circuit yet.

Rico, no biggie. A dealership visit might be the quickest route to a solution. A diagnosis can’t eat up that much time on their clocks. Those auto body guys do everything maybe drop by a local body shop and see what they think.

Appreciate it. I think i can narrow it down to something to do with the rear two seatbelt squibs, aside from that its outside of my wheelhouse. I may eyeball them to see if anything stands out, but ultimately this may be something I just bite the bullet on and take in for a fix. I got the car at a fairly good price and already budgeted an extra 1000 for potential repairs. Ive considered buying the Alldata diy book for the car, but not sure how much that would help. Any experience with them?
