W209 AUX Port Sound: 2008 CLK 350
I have a 2008 W209 CLK 350. It had an iPod connector coming through the wall of the glove box. I wanted to use the AUX 3.5 mm cable instead. I purchased one and had it delivered. However, when I opened the panel to the side of the dash where the glove box is I found there was one already there and it was plugged into the correct connector in the wiring running along the floor by the door. I took out the iPod connector but had to cut the cord on it to get the wider plug part through the hole. Probably at this point that was not the best thing to have done. I pushed the AUX 3.5mm port through the hole in the glove box and everything was good. However, when plugged my iPod into the port with the 3.5mm cable on it I get no sound. The cable works this way just fine on another car I have. I read somewhere that when the iPod jack is installed it disables the 3.5mm AUX port. Can anyone help me figure out how to reactivate the 3.5mm AUX jack? Thank you

2008 CLK 350
I read up on this and some of the problems people had with it. I think I just go ahead and pay for satelite radio. I have it on my other car and like it.

listening to the radio, or cd,s is painful?
Do you have the Bose, or HK?
I believe most cabriolets have the HK system. I have no sound problems with the HK system in my car, I'm not a autophile, but this system sounds pretty good to me.
My only grip, is the 6 disc changer in the glove box has stopped working. I've tried a couple that I purchased from ebay, but none of them have worked.Cd changer in the head unit works great, but I do miss having the 6 disc changer.

Hi, I used to own a Car Audio store when I lived in the St. Louis area. Then I worked for this company that was a Car Stereo Distributor for 12 years. This is my first MB found a cherry CLK 350 Cab, it's a 08 but with very low miles. It has the HK system in it and it does sound excellent. I also had problems with my CD changer, and I have been able to repair audio equipment, but the changer has many problems, so I removed it and got the Buvee bluetooth unit and stream just about everything from my phone. It doesn't have any loss of quality in the music. If you remove the CD changer you do have to get a Fiber loop for the antenna so your system will work. Just letting you know what you up against.

I used to own Car Audio Store in the St. Louis area in the 90s. I do have a HK system in my CLK 350A and it's a Great sounding System. My CD Changer also quit working, and I do know how to repair equipment. It did have many problems, mostly the cable back to the head unit, so I removed it and just use this Buvee Bluetooth unit thru the interface cable, and I can't hear any loss of quality in the music. Mostly listen to all my music I put on my phone or I stream Sirius XM off my phone. Just telling you that if you remove your CD Changer you have to get a Fiber Loop and install it into the antenna system or you will not get any audio off anything.

Yes it will, don't get the one that has a cable on it, that one fits the Mercedes that has the connector by the gear shifter. The ebay link I put on my last message is the same I have (shown in the pic below) is for $75.00. There are others off brands that will work, but I choose the Bovee cause I've heard of them before and I know the name. The others will work too, and they are cheaper, but I don't know how long they will last. I have had mine for over a year. Now this will not make it able to answer your phone or make calls. That's something else, and the phone system will not make it where you can stream music off your phone.

If you do need the system for the phone, go onto ebay and search for Cellguy, he is where I got mine and he talked me through the installation. He's a good and Honest man, you can see his name all through these pages, I also think someone even has his phone in here.
