The ultimate monster here by 5.0V8

KLEEMANN CLK50K Stage-8
10-07-2004

596 hp, 760 Nm and a limited top speed of 300 km/h.

KLEEMANN boosts the power output of the current Mercedes-Benz CLK 500 to 600 hp and a peak torque of 760 Nm with a new Stage 8 tuning upgrade. The Stage 8 tuning upgrade completes the KLEEMANN matrix of tuning and styling solutions which along with being flexible, can meet every customers demand.

Under the bonnet lurks a specially revised version of the eight-cylinder Mercedes-Benz NA (Normal Aspirated) 5,0 litre engine. Equipped with the KLEEMANN Kompressor system the engines power yield rises to 506 hp / 372 KW and 675 Nm. Additionally,
the engine ECU is reprogrammed, and application specific camshafts with stronger valve springs are fitted. Last, but not least, tailor-made headers in stainless steel and complete exhaust system with four steel catalysts lowers the exhaust backpressure allowing the engine to breathe more freely, hence producing more power.

With these engine modifications, the KLEEMANN CLK 50 K8 produces an incredible 600 hp / 442 KW and 760 Nm of torque available from between 2250 and 4750 rpm. This incredible power is routed through a KLEEMANN Limited Slip Differential (LSD) which applies a 60 percent lock-up ratio between the rear wheels. The performance benchmarks of this exclusive two-seater are 4,3 seconds from 0-100 km/h and 13,9 seconds for 0-200 km/h depending on the rear axel ratio equipped to the car. Like all other high-performance KLEEMANN cars the top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h.

The KLEEMANN aerodynamic-enhancement parts are designed with the highest level of perfection for form and function. The appearance is sporty yet elegant and in addition to making the coupe look even more intriguing the aerodynamic package offers a performance advantage as well. At high speeds the front spoiler, with the built-in air ducts for brake cooling, reduces lift on the front axle which improves directional stability. The rear apron with the integrated diffuser panel rounds out the KLEEMANN aerodynamic package.

Another important customizing feature on the CLK is the two-piece TM5 or the three-piece forged TS6 KLEEMANN light alloy wheels, which can be mounted on the coupe in the sizes 18-, 19- and 20-inch diameters. The largest possible combination on the CLK is the KLEEMANN TS6 alloy wheel in size 9JX20 for the front axle with 245/30 ZR 20 tires, and 10JX20 with 285/25 ZR 20 tires on the rear. The special shape of the TS6 rim star augments the aerodynamics of the car as it exhausts the air from underneath. In addition to reducing negative lift this also increases cooling of the brakes and ads to the handling and stability of the vehicle.

To further increase the cars handling characteristics KLEEMANN has fitted the coupe with KLEEMANN Speed Sensitive Suspension, which lowers the ride height by up to 30 millimetres, reduces body roll and increases the cars turn-in capability.

The safety aspect of a high performance coupe like the KLEEMANN CLK 50 K8 is the KLEEMANN high performance brake system, which easily handles even the most extreme braking tasks. The KLEEMANN brake system features 396 x 36 mm vented and cross-drilled discs with six piston calipers in the front, and 342 x 28 mm vented and cross-drilled discs with four piston calipers in the rear.

Another focal point of refining the Mercedes-Benz CLK 50 K8 is the interior. KLEEMANN offers an extensive program for the elegant coupe. Included are such attractive accessories as illuminated entrance panels with KLEEMANN logo, and an ergonomic KLEEMANN sport steering wheel with a choice of leather, leather/wood or leather/carbon combined with the possibility to shift through the gears via two bottoms fitted on the back. The finishing touch to the interior is genuine carbon inlays on the dashboard, centre console and door covers which creates a sporty yet comfortable and exclusive feeling.

It seems the 5.0V8 is potential to tune as well as 5.5V8
Check the new W203/C55K stage-8,it is 600ps around.

I don't know about everything else, but BergWerks sells Kleemann V8 superchargers for $11,000, and the suspension mods will probably run over $2K, if how much Kleemann's kit for other models is any indication. I would think that the ECU is required if you do the supercharger, and you'd have to do at least some exhaust work to relieve the extra back pressure I assume the supercharger will cause.

It looks like Kleemann still hasn't made a grille with their logo in place of the star, like Calsson has. Too bad.

2 questions I have:
1) they're claiming they'll double the hp of the 500 but don't say anything about transmission mods to accomodate that much extra power, other than changing the final drive ratio. Is the 500's gearbox really that robust?
2) They're claiming twice the hp and they're only knocking 1.6 sec off of the 0-60 time (according to Kleemann's website)? By the way, they claim the kompressor alone will knock 1.4 sec off the stock 0-60 run

Hers's the link regarding stage-8
http://www.kleemann.dk/site/Main/tun...ns/nav8engines

#1 Someone said that V8 gear box affords 650 Nm.
TQ of S8 (760 Nm) is far over that obviously.
so the enhencement is needed.

#2 Another said, the smart ECU/TCU will drop the TQ
when shifting, that's the way AMG V8K are doing.
It's also said 5.0 share the same gear box as V8K models.

Personally I believe #1.

Traction is a big issue to a 600ps CLK at launch, IMO.

Can't image this moderate, feminine style :p
w209 turns out to be a 600 ps monster coupe league.

How many more are ppl here going to mod this way ?

Don't worry, F/R 2.82 & headers keep the car as gentle
as you can easily handle in daily life.
for example, my wife drives it well, she's never slammed the gas pedal nor turn the esp off :v
By my driving, she screamed & stopped me everytime I floor the car

p.s
The larger F/R 3.06 is much violent, IMO
as you may know CLK-DTM equipped w 3.06 for track performance.
