hello guys, my W209 cluster has no backlight, everyting works fine, speedometer, RPM, all gauges, display, clock and also the dimmer for lights.
The only thing that is not worlking is the backlight for clock and for all the gauges.
I know that there is a LED strip for backlight.
There is any DIY guide to fix it?
Any instruction to take the led strip apart ?
in the photo key is on position 2 and light switch is on Auto.
if i move the dimmer only the needle and the LCD become brighter or darker.
there is any fuse to check?

Dimmer works but it's pointless lol. All lights work except back lighting. It worked once for a few mins but then went out again so I think it may be the ribbon for sure.
You should remove the cluster from your car, open it and look if the Mylar cable is broken, then you will fix it.
open it is easy. There are a lot of video on YT.
hello guys, i fixed my cluster backlight
i take it apart and found on the socket under the Mylar cable the 2 contacts were dirty. I cleaned them with some contact cleaner and i reassembled the cluster and now it works.
