Transform Frontal Radio W209 from 2003 to higher mod??
Hello forum, I have a Mercedes model W209 from 2003 to which I want to change the front appearance of the radio, keypad, climate for the model that came out later that is more aesthetic and beautiful.
Currently I have this front, the climate of the time, the old radio and the rounded keypad
This is how I would like to put it, change the most modern climate for mine even though all the options do not work, put a radio with a screen and the keypad that is like the successor to mine.
Could you tell me if buying the complete front of the successor to mine would serve in terms of catches and others? Has anyone fixed it and can give me info?
My idea is to update an aesthetic level and put a radio that occupies the front.
You probably can change radio with Comand 2.0 but the entire mask I think is not possible, climate control is yours is without display you cannot put a different one, you can fit the restayling one but no display, only knob.
by the air vent is a W209? To me looks like a W203.

Hello friend, sorry, I have changed the image of the model that my w209 has in the a/c, it is exactly the one that appears in the image. My idea is to change the entire appearance and make it more similar to yours, the air conditioner the same as yours, the radio that occupies the space like yours but a more current one and the buttons instead of rounded that are square like yours.
I don't know if the measurements of my w209 are the same as yours to buy it in pieces and put it on or I would have to make cuts.

hello, no problem in my 209, left the factory with the exact same configuration as yours with wood and radio Audio 10. i changed only the radio, AC control rest the same. but if you want you can change the interior insert with avantgrade one like This and put the Comand Radio and for AC control you have to tahe the original but i think you can change with This . But i dont know it will work, probably yes but you will missing some function.
Comand will work, cause i retrofit it on mine and i removed the Radio like yours

you can upgrade the radio with the Comand 2.0 or a modern android radio. for climate control you can put the "modern " one (see photo in the previous post.
you cannot put restayling part to old model i think they won't fit but i'm not sure. you can check this post Here

I actually did this. Took a 2004 CLK and gave it a 2005+ dash. You need the wiring harness and the bezel for the navigation unit along with GPS antenna. There are plenty of DIY on how to remove everything and it is very easy. Need to connect correctly and it will be fine. I did it in under 2 hours. Here is a pic of mine below. Hardest part was finding the darn upper dash switches to match the wood.

I had HK system in my 04 and everything was plug and play. Just get the dash removal tools and be careful prying the parts out.

Hello friends, does anyone know how to tell me the measurement of the radio panel when we transformed the front of the 2003 model to the most advanced restilying model? I don't know if the radio is 260mm or 254mm, has anyone successfully changed it?
