04 CLK Rims with Tires, How much?

How much do you guys think I should ask for almost brand new OEM 04 CLK rims with tires (<1k Miles)? Is it even worth selling or should I just keep it?

where do you live? are you somewhere where theres a winter season? if you are def keep them and use them as winter wheels. if not i would say still keep them cause when you go to sell your car or trade it in, throw those wheels back on and sell your aftermarket ones. what you would get for those wouldnt be worth it IMHO.

Mercedes
I would rather keep them too. Just in case you wanna sell your car in the future, you can always change the aftermarket rims with the stock rims.
Just my opinion though.

if your car is equipped with the appearance package i would really suggest you keep them they are really nice oem rims in my opinion. if theyre the 16's keep them as backups (snow tires, if you get a flat etc) but if your upgrading what would it be to? i think the lorinsers are very hot (i think lm6? not sure the ones that look like a turbine)
let us know what happens

DO NOT sell them Paul. BklynBenz is absolutely right. You will find them very handy when you trade-in/sell your car in the future. People always prefer everything bone stock. Plus you can get better resell price from the aftermarket wheels.

Thank you

I guess i'll go with the cenus and keep them. Am I the only one that feels CLK320 side skirts look better than 500 or 55 side skirts? It just looks cleaner and more simple to me. I have a buddy with a 320 (same color) and is will to trade, should I?

Only if he is willing to trade it back with you when you sell your car because I dont think anyone would like a car to have with 2/3 AMG bodykit on it.

Brabus Monoblock VI

As for new rims i'm thinking about the Brabus Monoblock VI. I can't decide between 18" or 19". I know that 19" will be a rougher ride but will look a lot better. I'm also hesistant about lowering my car (replacing the springs), because then I would lose warranty on the springs. I've seen a picture of a CLK with 18" Brabus Monoblock VI without lowered rims and it looks pretty good. What do you guys think?

19s

I put 19s on mine and it looks awesome. much of the ride quality is linked to your tires.

tire size

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3s
Rear: 265/30 zr19s 93y - wheels are 9" wide
Front: 235/35 r19 91y - wheels are 8" wide
so far real nice tires, relatively quiet considering the z rating....stick like glue...

pics on "wheel recommendation" post; site won't allow me to repost the same pics twice.

To tampaclk:

I would love to see some photos of your tires/wheels.

I considered the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3s for my wife's C-Class, but we ended up going with the new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's.

She wanted the German make on the German car.

And overall, the Michelins were rated slightly better.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ay.jsp?type=MP

However, for road noise, the Goodyear brand was slightly better, and as she was not driving in the "spirited" mode, I recommended the Goodyears.

The Michelin PS2's are noticably stiffer than the older Pilots that came with the car, but they are very good in the cornering/stability aspect.

But that stiff ride is getting old. May have to consider the Goodyears again for her upcoming CLK500.

What are your impressions for ride quality and noise with your tires on this car?

tires

overall the ride quality is very good w/minimal noise...considering
one complaint...the wide grooves pick up stones and such

i've had michs before on my acuras and saab...I'm just not a fan. the guy at tire rack said it was the best tire for my wheel size...

a pic is under the "wheel recommendation" post.

Which tire; the Michelin or the Goodyear?

Most of these tires vendors really promote the Michelins.

I think it boils down to driver and driver tendancies.

The Michelin PS2's are stiff, but handle really well.

But for my wife, the softer tire (thus ride) is preferred - she doesn't whip the car around anyway.

tire

the goodyears; he said they were the best tire for the money, so I did some homework on the internet. I was looking at other tires...not the goodyears.
overall, i'm pleased with my purchase, and I'd buy from the tire rack again...I spoke with the rep 4 or 5 times before I made the wheel/tire purchase...his advice, in my opinion, was good.

I like to whip the car around, but in FL, there aren't too many twisties...I just wish I had a v8 under the hood w/amg

2.5 yrs.

At least not in the urban areas, which I live. (Miami/Fort Laud.).

I just wish I had a v8 under the hood w/amg
You could always take it to RENNtech in Palm Beach.

At least they would provide you with the most power possible for your engine. (Total price might still be lower than AMG version of your car.)
