sunroof glitch

When I push the "one touch" close button on my sunroof, it starts to close up until about 1 inch before totally closed, then backs up about 6 inches then stops. it only closes all the way when I hold the button the whole time...any thoughts?

just hit 3000 miles...second problem.

Had the same exact problem too. But after you mess around with it more, for me, it seems to work again. This problem occurs on and off for me. When i bring it for service next week, im going to complain to them.

Sounds like it needs to be resynched. Hold the switch til it opens/closes and maintain that hold for about 3 sec. Now do the reverse the same way. After this it should work properly again. Should be described in the FM.

I read this thread while I was work and when I got off I opened my sunroof for the first time (bought car on 11/26). No glitch, but if it does happen, I'm glad I know how to slove the problem. Thanks guys!

Seems to be an issue with 03 and 04 CLKs. Anyone with 05 CLKs experiencing this problem?

I don't have the problem yet but had it on my 2003 c230 after several months. Not sure if its the result of not resyncing or not.

The procedure is documented in the manual, and you might want to take a look at it to make sure you did it properly and that you don't waste your time going all the way to the dealer just to find out that you somehow did it wrong.

My 04 500 just started doing it last week, I tried the synchro in the manual, (hold up in tilt mode for one second) and it worked again for a few days then it malfunctioned once again then ok etc...

I have a 2004 clk and I had the same problem as well. when i took it to the dealer they told me that the software had lost its settings and that using the sunroof button reset would not work. They updated the software for the computer and its been about 3 months with no problems.
