Tampclk, when u say trans, do you mean transmission? I had a transmission problem, sounded like something was grinding, they did the reprogram, didnt' work so gave me a new transmission.

yes, transmission

MB service said they had to reprogram it; they also said they had to do it 3 separate times for it to work. ??

No Grinding; at speed, the car would miss gears and "skip"...like it wasn't sure which gear to be in, and while driving very slow it would buck...kind of like w/ a stick shift w/o engaging the clutch. it runs fine now, but i still notice a very minor lag when I get on it between 2nd and 3rd gear (i almost always drive it in the "manual" mode) I plan to mention it when I bring it in for its next service.

With about 55,000 miles, these are the problems I had.

SRS light came on with about 10,000 miles.
Car shut off in the middle of road, with 8,000 miles.
Driver door actuater broke, don't remember when.
Trunk actuater got loose, don't remember when.
Cracked trunk cover for brake light. Just fixed it

Never figured out why car shut off. Dealer said they could not find a fault code. Think it was contamination in the gas.

All were fixed under warrant, and never happened again.

With 18,000 miles I had the wiper blade problem when I first got the car. I had a problem with the sunroof not closing had to take it in and they fixed it. I have had it serviced twice. I have not hand any problems getting these things taken care of at the dealer and of course no charge I am so far very thrilled with the car 2003 clk 320.

Cool

I have put on a grand total of 8,000 km (5,000 miles) on my car during the past three months. So far no problems whatsoever, except saw an Engine Coolent Warning on the screen right in the beginning. The MB guy fixed that in five minutes, but he said there was nothing wrong with the Coolent levels. He said that this warning could pop up even if Windshield washer fluid levels are low. Therefore I am not so sure if there was ever a problem or it was just a hyperactive sensor working overtime.

I love the drive and feel of this car. It is great in handling and in terms of raw power. And boy does this car steal some serious looks.

Cheers,

Zee

2004 CLK500 with approx 12K.

Problems:

1. Car pulls to right. Changed tires from Pirellis to Michelin Pilot Sports which I hate. Nice, aggresive looking tire but louder than a tank. New tires haven't fixed the issue and the dealer can find nothing wrong so I have a 60 grand car that doesn't drive straight. Very annoying.

2. Headrest wouldn't go down. Replaced controls on door panel.

Other than that I love the car.

18000 miles. 2003 (bought in June 03) CLK320.

Windows had to be tighten at 14000 miles
Center console jammed
Cupholder jammed (both fixed when windows were being tighten)
Oil sensor faulty at same time.
A/C button went out at 17000 miles. Could not turn A/C on at all.

Other than this minor issues, all resolved promptly by the dealers, it is great.

There are a few of these cars that pull to the right. Pilot Sports ended the problem for me and now if you let go of the steering wheel at a 100mph it goes straight down the highway. Everything has to be just right including the tire pressure.

If your dealer can't fix it take it to another dealer. It can be fixed, I just think some dealers don't know what they are talking about or could care less.

22,000 miles. To date: Windshield wiper problem which was fixed first time, SRS light due to bad connector harness fixed after second time under warranty. I think that is it. I left my lights on once and drained the battery after which my windows didn't roll all the way up and the sunroof wouldn't close but it is easy to reset the windows and sunroof so that was taken care of. Overall, I am very happy with the car and I think the issues I've had were minor and taken care of by the dealer. The only complaint I have is no second cupholder.
