What is the correct maintanace scheduel for the W209's? I have had my car for about 6 months and have about 6,000 miles on it and i called ther merc dealership and they told me i did not have to bring it in until 8,000 miles. That makes me kinda skeptical.

I think its every 10k miles for every scheduled maintance..... The computer will tell you how many miles you have left til next schedule maintance.....

You should spend a few minutes looking through the maintenance recommendations that came with your car. You may want to do more, but at least you will know the minimums. Never trust your dealer.

hey dumb question, my car says i have about 3400 miles until service a but i just dont feel like waiting that long...i drove already 3700 miles and i think an oil change is necessary the same thing happened with my 01 chrysler sebring conv(what a pos) i didnt change the oil and in the last few months of the lease the engine blew and i was stuck with a 7000 dollar bill

now if i do an oil change will i be voiding any type of warranty (ill go to a local place they charge about 50 bucks for a synthetic oil change + full service car wash) or you think i can get away with it without benz realizing i did the oil change(i will attend my service A in 3k miles)

You can have your oil changed when ever you want. Just make sure its synthetic. It shouldn't affect your warrenty at all..... Plus when you change the oil, the counter on your computer doesn't reset.... there is a special sequence or something that resets the computer...so you should be all set with warrenty issues if u go ahead and getyour oil changed.....

Yes your oil gets changed every ~10k miles but some people are more **** than others and change there oil every 3-5k miles.... and then go in for maintanace at 10k miles....

Same here

I have an '04 CLK500 with about 4600 miles on it, bought in June '04 ... the dealer says I won't have to bring it in for "Schedule A" service until about 10,000 miles. I have a hard time buying this, synthetic oil or not, so I'm planning to take it in soon elsewhere. Thanks for the warranty info in the above post.
