I thought you wanted everything under the hood to say AMG? The Renntech airbox, has a huge renntech logo on it, and you would have to lose your AMG signature plate or relocate it.

it will be used for performance increase. I just talked to schrick and they said their cam is basically the same thing as AMG.. man.. I need something to squeeze out of engine.. But I am really narrowed down to certain things.

For the price they are selling it, it should be another engine cover, not CF'd over cover. So... Let's see who can sell it to me.

I am not really sure what you are talking about here. To install the renntech airbox, you take off the stock engine cover, replace the airbox with the carbon fiber renntech airbox. Then you need a new cover to cover the front half of the engine. Renntech supplies this with the kit. So, to recap, the back half of the engine cover can't be used because the C/F airbox is bigger and taller than the old airbox, and has a big screaming RENNtech logo on it. The front half of the engine is naked, until you put the supplied front half engine cover back on the vehicle. You will lose all the AMG markngs and will lose the AMG signature plate. All that will be left will be that huge RENNtech logo. So I say again......I thought you wanted everything to say AMG under the hood? This was, at least at the time, your argument against getting a blower, because your other mods were rapidly approaching the cost of a blower for much less of a power and torque gain. Hope this clarifies what I am talking about.

By the way, since the kleemann blower fits in practically the same place as the amg blower, you could just by an amg kompressor engine cover. The only reason the photos from kleemann have the AMG and MB stuff removed is for legal reasons.

First of all , I already bought it today and it is on its way here by Fri.
I like to add something that could be reversed to perfect stock setting without touching any major(engine) component, in case I sell my car.

As you said I might be taking other path than what I decided to do but my CLK55 has plenty of power and control on street and around bends with the tune. The cost of all modifications are adding up to $23G, which I didn't realize until today. Well.. you got the point I could have done Renntech low boost and get nice wheels and springs and that would be all set. But then there is no fun to tuning. It's just "I got the money so I will spend it".

This is a learning curve for me, and I learned a lot about mercedes through litlle stuff. I will continue this path and when I need some crazy a s s power and speed, I will move on to the next brand. 997 Porsche Turbo/GTs.

But for now I just need to max out my setting in NA format. Wait until I get you the final dyno number and 1/4mile track time.

rguy, you have the 100% right point that's granted.

Now if you want to keep a naturally aspirated tuning scheme, that makes sense. I was just worried you would spend a couple grand to 3500 and get something you didn't want. I wasn't trying to attack you in any way. I just wanted to make it clear to you that the Rtech airbox doesn't fit under the stock cover as some people might imagine. Good luck.

Fast Cars!
I just saw this thread. I could have helped if i saw it sooner, but i see you already got it. Goodluck with it, the box is sweet looking!

Btw, rguy, the logo on the renntech box is not big at all. Infact its quite small.

It's big to someone who wants nothing but AMG under the hood. Sorry if I was speaking metaphorically.
