Stock HID headlights: Want to switch Out To Blue
I have the stock HID headlights and I want to get the blue/purple effect.
What r the best plug n play bulbs (for stock HID) to get the bluish/purple effect.
I've heard the Philips Ultinon are the best quaility.
Also, if you've got HID, do you still need to add any hardware other than switching out the fuse to a higher amp?
Thanks guys/ and gals!

If you have stock HID's then you do not need to switch out any fuses as all you will be doing is switching out the bulbs. You will still use the factory ballasts.
I've switched Ultinons into my C55. Its whiter than the stock D2s bulbs. I don't think they are that blue, then again blue is so played out.
Besides Ultinons, PIAA has released 6600K D2S replacement bulbs. But for blue/purple effect go for 8000K or 10000K replacement bulbs.

I would go with the PIAAs. I had PIAAs in my car before. They have a bluish, purplish, velvet tint to them. They were beautiful from every angle. But unfortunately, got too many fix it tickets, attracted too much unwanted attention from cops. So be careful with too much color. By the way, I think someone in classified is selling a set of factory Zenons for the CLK for only $400. Why don't you check him out. That's what I would put on my car instead of bulbs. Not only does it serve the functional purpose, esthetic purpose, but also adds value to your car when you sell it.

Thanks everyone ... BTW Slvrstar ... I've got factory Xenons on the car ... but thanks for the info ... I'm looking to switch out to a "bluer" effect as the factory Xenons lose their blue color after 5 mins.

My BAD! I currently have phillips 6000K on my car. It's pretty bright with a shade/tint of blue and velvet at certain angles but it's mostly white. I hear 8000 or 10000 has more color. So I guess if you want more colors, get more K's.
