Thinking of selling my 2003 CLK55

Well, I think I'm really sold on the new CLS55, but I know the dealership will give me crap for a trade in so I figure the best thing to do is try and sell my CLK55 on my own.
It is black with black/merlot leather.
it has 17,000 miles.
- Bi-Xenons with headlamp washers
- 6 disc changer
- rear window sunshade
- all season floor mats - never used
always garaged
never driven in the winter or snow
no mods performed
I'll even throw in the Euro-spec springs I bought but never put on.

as for the price.....
I was hoping to get around $55,900
but of course negotiation is always an option.
Kelly Blue Book says: retail value: $54,130
private party value: $48,195
NADA Guide says: Trade-In $46,925
Average retail: $52,250

So I guess I'll work from those numbers.
PM me with any questions or e-mail me at: dasrx@hotmail.com
Thanks guys.

I've got the same color combo on my 2001 CLK430 (32K miles)...love it! I'm in the process of finding buyer for it, too. What color combo are you lookinig at on the CLS55 and are you getting the 030 Performance Package?

Good luck with the sale and the new CLS55!!!!!

I haven't ordered a CLS yet....waiting to sell my car first.
I don't think I will get the 030 performance package since I don't think I would need it.
I would definitely get a black CLS....do they have Merlot interior?
I think I will wait for a 2007 model. That gives me time to sell my car.

NO...I tried to build one on MBUSA last night just for kicks and merlot was not an interior color option. That's a good idea about waiting for the next MY...1st year gremlins on any car are common.

I drove up on a black CLS55 last week in traffic and it was stunning. I was giving the CLS55 crap for its rear view before I saw it in person and I have personally changed my tune. Truly unique compared to what is on the road...the only other car that has a presence that sticks out like that is the Hemi 300C IMO.

You've got a wait for a 2007, so if you get a good offer, take it or realize the car will go down another year in value and you can throw your numbers out the window. The KBB trade is $43,600 now and loan value is usually even lower than that.

The springs I have are Euro-spec AMG springs. I got them from gert in Belgium. See the thread titled Euro-spec springs for the W208 by Chappy.
I paid over $300 for all four springs. I am willing to let them go for $250. That includes shipping and handling (in the continental US). The springs have never been used and are specifically for the W209. I don't think the year will matter...will it?
I guess the springs are suppose to lower the car to European bumper specs. You probably need to buy spring pads to go with them also. I don't have spring pads.
If you are really interested PM me with questions.
Thanks
Stiggs

Question Updates?

Any luck so far? I'm curious to see how well you do in regards to selling your CLK. I also have an 03 CLK55, and I've given some thought to selling mine. I would if I could get better than $50k, but the market seems weak, so even that may be wishful thinking. Anyway, I hope that you get good money for your car. For both our sakes!

Best regards,
Matt

Well, so far no luck. Of course it hasn't really been on the market that long.
I know it will be very hard to sell this car. I will definitely have to go lower on my price, but I always start high and then go lower.
I think what will end up happening is I will just trade it in to the dealership for a CLS55. Its too bad because the car is well cared for and only has 17K miles. I would like to see it go to someone who will enjoy it as much as I have.

Actually you 'were' right, the rear view of CLS is crap. The rest are perfect.! I would probably go for a E63 after W211 receives a facelift in 2006.
