Do you still love your CLK?
Yesterday, I "ran the route" one last time, making sure all the directions were correct so as to not get anyone lost, make certain mileages were correct, and that the drive had a nice "flow" to it. This time, I took the CLK55 and man-o-man.....
I AM STILL IN LOVE WITH THIS CAR!
After three years and 21,000 miles of ownership, this car still amazes me.
Plenty of power, great grip and pure luxury continue to keep me enamoured with my W208 AMG. The car has awesome brakes, endless grunt with 376 lb.-ft. torque and could handle everything I threw at her, while maintaining a comfy 72 degrees in the cabin. The engine barely registered any increase in heat, despite some enthusiastic driving. It's no manual, but the touch-shift transmission is a gem to use for the North Georgia mountain roads.During my 102-mile run, I barely encountered any other cars on the road, making the trek that much more enjoyable. I can't wait to do it again this Saturday!

Wish I could join you this weekend ... I have prior commitments.
Maybe the next one ... and I did read your post on the other thread ... I am looking into a possible "Rally" in my "jurisdiction" ... there are areas within the unincorporated part of the county which would meet our driving enthusiasm ... and we would not be risk to the general public.
Give me time to work the particulars ... :v
One bonus I didn't realize with the designo mocha paint is that when it gets a little dirty, the silver flecks in the paint help hide it so it doesn't look bad at all. With my old black cosmos m3 the car looked dusty 20 minutes after it got washed.

I just love being able to punch it and hear that throaty roar and feel the acceleration ... the idea that you can go much faster quickly when you need that quick burst of acceleration, yet still let off the gas as you hit the speed limit (OK ... 75 or 80
) a few seconds later ... I love the tightness and the feel of gripping the road and the responsiveness of the steering ... and of course I love how it looks, both inside and outside ... and how well-made it is, how the seats fit me just right ... and the way it cruises so nicely on the highway, how it feels like a driver's car - the ONLY thing I don't like is how (relatively) low the front end is, I'm not used to it and I've already have had two bad encounters with those concrete blocks at the end of parking spaces
(I got whistled at by girls half my age driving down Bel Air Drive towards Sunset Blvd. in Bel Air on Friday ... lol ... little did they realize I was sorta lost, the Nav wasn't on at the time
)

Since my car has brought my so much enjoyment, I decided to reward her with a supercharger, which will be going on this week. :0) Now she'll keep me happy for a long time to come :0)
I hope the next gen CLK looks better than the 209's...
anyone seen any sketches ?
I signed a bunch of non-disclosure stuff so I can't really talk about it, but I will say that if this design makes it, the girly look is out and the musclecar look is back.
