Kleeman Headers!
Can the Kleeman headers they make for the CLK55 work on the W203 C55?
And are they infact different than the headers they make for the E55 W210 and 211?
Anybody know?
If so then the CLK headers should bolt up to the C43 I hope.
I know the stck exhaust manifolds are different between the E55 and the CLK55 I believe.

Kleemann headers
I'm Just install a set on my 03 CLK5.5AMG last night. It was tight!!! . I had to use a hammer and some wood to push the heat shields on the side & over the motor mounts . .About 4 hours of work , and had to loosen the motor mounts & jack the motor. Funny think I found the motor mount bolts were not what I would call tight??? I loosened them with a 1/4 ", 3 inch ratchet , with light wrist action . The top side mount bolts was the same . I used a little red locktite and 40 FT lbs .
If your 208 has a larger engine , I think they would fit. Here's some pictures of the OEM manifolds , next to the headers . I have already done a dyno , Mtr has new S/P s. Renntech air , box Green filters. And Kleemann ECU upgrade. The car is going to the muffler Shop to have the rest of the exhaust system built, Using 100 cell cats & Carlsson Muffler. Then back to the dyno

As soon as you get your car back please post the dyno results thanx!!

PTE,
Are those Kleemann headers you have there coated or just plain polished? Looks good. Have tested it out yet and if so did you notice a huge difference between the stocks?

I'm very insterested to see your dyno results with those Kleemann beauty's. Do you still have cats and how is the sound. I'm thinking of doing this because I think it will work well with my supercharger and I would wrap them to help reduce motor heat.

How do I know? Let's just say it's my job to know....

W202/208 cars use recirculating ball steering, where a 203/209 uses rack and pinion which does not have a steering box to contend with. W202/208 headers are unique to that chassis because of the steering system- there is simply not enough room for a header like the one in the picture.

...so then you're saying we're SOL Cory? No way, No how? ...or are we misunderstanding and you are only saying "no headers like that, we do have some but they are different?".

CLK 5.5 headers
I had them coated by a local guy ,here in Stuart FLA.
I paid retail , but anything else I looked at was not as good as the Kleemann , for increase HP. IMHO
Chris @ C2Design & Cory at Kleemann USA are Great to work with
I will dyno the car after I finish the exhaust system. This will be the 20th run on the dyno.
Next will be Kleemann Cams , this may take a little longer. I want to get the valve covers polished and clear coated.

I do agree to Chris and Spencer are top notch. Haven't had the chance to work with Cory as I'll leave all my work to C2 Design.

Cams
The motor is a N/A , 3 valve 11 to 1 C/R. From what I understand , the motor will have a slight lope at Idle or as explained in the intallation guide ,a slightly lumpy idle - this is normal due the lift & duration of the Kleemann cams
My Guess is , that it will idle somewhat like a z06
DurationCRA intake 256 degrees
DurationCRA exhaust 268 degrees
peak timing 114 degree. I think that is center line
Valve timing CRA
intake opens 14 degree / closes 62 degree
exhaust opens 68 degrees / closes 20 degrees
Thats all I know , until I dyno the car when the cams are installed.. I do all my own work after I get off the road , and on the week end . Other than that , Talk to Brandon @ Kleemann USA

PTE, Thanks for the cam specs. I think that if the lob centers where moved some so the intake side was advanced so it opened 5 degrees sooner and the exhaust cam closed 5 degrees sooner you would see some Hp.
Another company to coat the headers is Swain Tech. They spray a very thick ceramic coating on that really keeps the heat in. I can typically touch my headers after driving only minutes after shutdown. The only drawback is the coating is not shiny it is more grainy, like a fine silver sand texture.
